Delta Gamma has brought me the best friends, memories, and experiences I could have ever asked for in college. From living in the house, to sitting next to a sister in class, I have found my very best friends. I’ve been able to grow alongside my amazing sisters over the past three years and they have shaped who I am today. They have been some of my biggest role models and support system here at OU. They have showed me what it means to truly be a good friend, and I am constantly inspired by their grace, kindness, and positive outlook on life. I’ve always had sisters I can lean on, and the friendships and bonds I’ve made through DG are ones I know will have forever.
I came to OU from Chicago, and being an out-of-state girl I did not know a single soul. I was extremely nervous to go through recruitment. DG was the first house I went to on open house round and I immediately fell in love with the sisterhood. From the second I walked through the doors I could tell how genuine each girl was and how strong their friendships were. The biggest thing for me during recruitment was to find a home away from home and that’s exactly what I found at DG. Every day I went back, each girl I talked to was so funny, kind, and welcoming in her own way. On Bid Day I was welcomed home by a girl who ended up becoming both my big and one of my best friends. Even though I did not know anyone coming to OU, everyone in DG made me feel so welcomed and not a single day has gone by since recruitment three years ago that I haven’t felt that same love. My friendships in DG have only continued to grow, and the love and support my sisters have shown me has meant so much, especially being so far from my home and my family. DG is so special to me and has become my home here at OU.
