Ottawa Ribfest on Sparks St. is a classic, with a great variety of award-winning vendors. I had the chance to be there on Wednesday when it kicked off, and a half rack costs $18, plus beans and coleslaw for an extra $5.
The Ottawa Chinatown Night Market is on Somerset St. in the heart of Chinatown and will feature shows and performances throughout each day, including the iconic lion dance. Moreover, its popular Latin Dance Party will happen two nights in a row, on Friday (7pm-11pm) and Saturday (7:45pm-11pm).
The Asian Fest Night Market has changed locations this year and will be more centrally located at LeBreton Flats. There will be K-pop performances, live DJs, cultural shows, games and prizes, and of course, amazing food.
Entry to all 3 festivals is FREE.

It’s tucked just off Richmond Road behind stone walls, and it’s a super peaceful, charming spot inspired by old European estates, quietly hidden in the middle of the city.
Right now it’s full of spring colours, tulips, lilacs, and beautiful heritage flowers that have been admired for generations. 🌸
A true hidden gem that many people in Ottawa still don’t know about.

What an event!! Tamarack Race Weekend took over the city!
I loved this day! Thousands of people running with one goal in mind: reaching the finish line, and a crowd cheering loudly for their loved ones… truly unmatched.
It was so contagious that I even felt like running, even though I’ve never run long distances before, haha!
Tamarack Race Weekend is basically a huge community party, and it’s so fun to be part of it, whether as a runner or a spectator.

If you’re heading to the Glebe this weekend, you’d better ride your bike or take an Uber. Some streets will be closed, which will make parking very complicated.
Things to know:
• There will be racks for 250+ bikes at Lansdowne Park, then you can walk to the garage sale.
• Bus stops at Third St and Bank St will be closed.
• Parking on Bank St is not permitted between 5 a.m. and 4 p.m.
• Glebe Ave, First, Second, Third and Fourth Ave will be closed to visitor parking (between Lyon and O’Connor).
My experience: Last year my husband and I drove to the Glebe early in the morning, and by 8 a.m. it was impossible to find a parking spot. He dropped me off and went to look for parking. He couldn’t find any. Completely defeated, he returned home, and later came back to pick me up.
So, you know, take your bike, bus or Uber. 😅
