ご無沙汰しております。
5月は思いがけず忙しくなり、
一度も投稿していませんでした。
冷蔵庫が壊れたり🧊、蟻が侵入したり🐜、
玄関にコウモリいたり🦇、
荷物が税関で止まったり📦…で、
家や庭の大掃除や
英語↔︎日本語↔︎中国語のやりとりで大忙しで。。。
しかし、そんなトラブルも解決し、
かわりに嬉しいこともありました💕
そう、終わり良ければすべて良し🫶✨
It's been a while.
May turned out to be unexpectedly busy, and I didn't post even once.
My refrigerator broke down, ants invaded, there were bats at the front door, and my packages got held up at customs... so I was extremely busy with cleaning my house and garden and communicating in English ↔︎ Japanese ↔︎ Chinese.
However, all those troubles have been resolved, and there were some happy things too.

The contemporary Kyoto-based ceramicist Oishi Sayaka creates richly detailed, maximalist ceramics that weave together fragments of the human body, plants, and animals, forming immersive, otherworldly landscapes. What first feels like a chaotic mix of life forms gradually reveals a deeply human vision unveiling a universal coexistence with nature through vessels and objet d’art.
Centering her practice on “decoration,” Oishi uses the codification of ornament and surface to express complex, often indescribable emotions—inviting a sense of wonder in every piece.
Oishi’s work is currently on view at the Phoenix Art Museum, as part of the traveling exhibition of women artists from Japan showcasing works from the celebrated collection of Carol and Jeffrey Horvitz.
Her work will be shown in our upcoming exhibition, “Shaping Clay: Women artists in contemporary Japanese Ceramics,” opening on May 21.

My solo exhibition at L gallery successfully concluded on 19th.
It was my first time back at the space in five years, and I was able to reunite with customers who had been eagerly awaiting my return. The enjoyable conversations surrounding my new works warm my heart so much. I also met many new people, and their feedback was very insightful. And to my regular customers, thank you so much as always.
I apologize to those I couldn't meet, and I feel bad for those who have to wait my boxes inscribed, but thanks to all of you always put my work first, I've already started on my next project.
I will continue to work hard to create works that will excite and thrill you all, so please continue to support me!
And to L gallery, thank you so much for your support this time as well! I love Tokai; the food is delicious and the people are amazing!
