We’re back in our Utah home base (as Eric likes to say!) after an unforgettable Arctic Expedition. 🚐❄️
🗓 61 days on the road
📏 10,500 miles (16,900 km) traveled
🌊 Arctic Ocean, not once, but twice
🌍 Reached one of 3 places on earth where there you can drive above 70 degrees latitude
🇺🇸🇨🇦 Through the U.S. and Canada
At our age, we feel immensely blessed to be able to do an adventure like this together. Totally self-sufficient — never once plugged the van into external power, only 3 showers in places outside the van, and just 5 meals not cooked in the van. Most of the time, we were deep in remote areas surrounded by pure wilderness. 💙
Now we’re back home and very busy (maybe even a little overwhelmed!) with catching up on chores— but we’ll slowly be sharing more about this fantastic experience. Stay tuned. ✨

Na nossa idade, nos sentimos imensamente abençoados por podermos fazer uma aventura como esta juntos. Totalmente autossuficientes — nunca conectamos a van a uma tomada externa, apenas 3 banhos em locais fora da van e apenas 5 refeições não preparadas na van. Na maior parte do tempo, estávamos em áreas remotas, cercadas por pura natureza. 💙
Agora estamos de volta em casa e muito ocupados (talvez até um pouco sobrecarregados!) colocando as tarefas em dia — mas aos poucos compartilharemos mais sobre essa experiência fantástica. Fiquem ligados. ✨

We were in Fairbanks, ready for the Dalton Highway—our goal is to drive above latitude 70, as far north as any road goes in North America.
But the Dalton had other plans:
🌊 Floods washed out sections of the Road
❄️ Snow is now on the forecast
🚧 The road was closed and is now opened only to one-way traffic in damaged areas
So, we wait… at Chena Hot Springs, soaking in the pools, watching the leaves turn yellow, and dreaming of the Arctic roads ahead.

In 2019 we crossed the Alaska Highway and reached our goal of visiting all 8 Alaska National Parks — an adventure that took not just roads, but also boats, bush and float planes. 🛩️🌲
Now in 2025 we’re back — this time crossing the Top of the World Highway after reaching Tuktoyaktuk on the Arctic Ocean. 🌊❄️
Our dream is to drive the Dalton Highway all the way to Prudhoe Bay… but for now we’re slowing down, fishing in the fjords 🎣, and waiting for longer nights in the hope of catching the Aurora Borealis before returning home to Utah. 🌌✨
