Jocelyn Chartrand, labour manager at Modern Niagara Ottawa, a part of UA Local 71, tells us why he loves his home. He names a steady job market and a growing city with a small-town, friendly feel as some of the primary reasons why Ottawa is a great place to live.
He tells us about his journey from roofing to labourer and then plumbing apprentice at Modern Niagara. The complexity and constant evolution of the pipe trades gave Sam the challenge he was looking for in his career.
We caught up with Sam at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), where he is helping to install piping in their new Integrated Treatment Centre.
