Celebrating physiotherapy also means recognizing the importance of access.

This National Physiotherapy Month, OPA is celebrating the physiotherapy professionals who help Ontario move, recover, stay independent, and live well.

But too many people still face barriers to publicly funded physiotherapy care, including seniors and people with complex needs who depend on community-based services to stay active, mobile, and out of hospital.

Most physiotherapists are told to chase short-term marketing tactics. Ads, hacks, rankings, quick wins. That can work short term. But long term, it creates dependency, low-quality leads, and zero retention.

This upcoming webinar from NewFrame Digital is about building a foundation so marketing works with your practice, not something you have to keep paying for forever. This session is free and for OPA Members only - visit the link in bio to register.

Physiotherapy moves people toward what matters most.

For some, that means returning to sport.
For others, it means walking without fear of falling.
It may mean getting back to work, recovering after surgery, managing pain, or staying independent at home.

Physiotherapy is about movement, but it is also about quality of life.

This National Physiotherapy Month, OPA is proud to celebrate the profession and the people who help people move toward their goals.

The situation facing Ontario’s Community Physiotherapy Clinic Program is deeply concerning and risks leaving seniors and vulnerable patients without access to essential care. Community-based physiotherapy helps people recover and remain independent and reduces pressure on hospitals.

When a program delivers this kind of value, it should be strengthened, not allowed to erode through chronic underfunding. We support the call for immediate, sustainable investment to protect access to care.

In honour of National Physiotherapy Month, Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare and the Windsor District of OPA are organizing a shoe drive in order to stock the HDGH Clothing Closet. This gives patients of the hospital access to clothing or footwear who are in need.
