I dunno about you but my personal and public social media accounts have been flooded with everyone's adorable Back-To-School pictures and my youngest obliged me by joining the celebration. (Peep the board 😂)
He's grinning from ear to ear as he embarks on new big adventures at home without his big sisters, and that grin is replaced with an even bigger one when they come bounding in the door after school and scoop him up.
It's a bittersweet time as we bid summer adios; but little boober couldn't be happier that he has the reign of the house with his exploding milestones of mobility (and a monopoly on mommy's attention) all to himself once again!
Gazing at his beaming face, and the excitement in the eyes of my girls, I can't help but feel so many emotions all at once. 🥺 It's a poignant reminder of how rapidly these precious moments zoom past us. Every season with our little ones brings new joys, challenges, lessons, and memories. It's crazy how we’re already saying goodbye to summer and welcoming another school year.
I’m putting out a gentle reminder to slow down together amidst the chaos, take a deep breath, and embrace these fleeting moments no matter what stage of motherhood or life you are in. Here's to another year of growing, learning, and making the most of our time with our kiddos. Even when the house is quieter and the mornings are rushy, remember each phase is a beautiful passage in this journey of parenthood.
You ARE doing an amazing job. 🫂

A year has passed since I first announced the upcoming arrival of our bright little rainbow on August 22, 2022. It seemed like a fitting day to be vulnerable and share, though there was still so much anxiety and fear about doing so.
I shared an ultrasound picture from my first appointment when I was around 6/7 weeks gestation, but was actually over 23 weeks pregnant at the time of posting. It still didn’t feel ‘safe’ for me to share, and I cried for hours before doing so, but I’ve come to realize through this journey that I am not alone in this experience or these intense feelings and emotions in a pregnancy after loss.
My grief and feelings are valid, as are those of anyone who has walked this path. I see you mama, I hold space for you. 🫶🏼
Celebrated annually on August 22, this is a day when families throughout the country honor the lives of their lost infants while also celebrating motherhood. A rainbow baby is a child delivered to a family who has previously experienced stillbirth, miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, or infant mortality. These subsequent pregnancies can cause intense anxiety, guilt, and even dread, as well as joy and healing. The name ‘rainbow’ refers to the child’s ability to bring optimism and relief after the emotional storm of a previous loss(es).
Today, I lovingly share that our rainbow baby, Sierra-Anderson #3- Benjamin Gabriel has been with us earthside since December 2022. It’s so incredible on the eve of this special day, his exact time spent in utero has been spent earthside!
Over this year, our precious little one, our 'somewhere over the rainbow' baby, has brought immense joy, healing, and color into our world.
💙🌈💜 To our beloved Benjamin Gabriel, we love you infinitely, to the moon and back. 💜🌈💙

Not all heroes wear capes- breastmilk donors use their superpower to make a difference in the lives of so many who are in need of breastmilk. Whether due to medical conditions, premature, birth, or numerous other circumstances, some babies are unable to receive the essential nutrients they need to grow and develop.
Breastmilk donations are a lifeline for our tiniest fighters, providing them with the crucial immunity, antibodies, and nutrients they need to thrive and overcome obstacles. 🌈✨
They are not just receiving nourishment; they are receiving hope, love, and compassion from a community of incredible women. 💜
Together, we can redefine the term 'failure to thrive' into 'strength to conquer'! 💪🏼
If you're inspired to make a difference, there are several ways you can contribute. You can donate your own breastmilk to milk banks, which ensure proper storage and distribution to those in need. These organizations have rigorous screening processes to guarantee the safety and quality of the donated milk, so you can be confident in making a difference!
If you prefer a more informal approach, you can also consider sharing breastmilk with those in need in your community through careful, safe practices. Remember, it's essential to consult with medical professionals and seek proper guidance to ensure everything is done in the best interest of both you and the recipient.
Together, we can create a network of support and love for those who need it most!

Breastmilk is a Superfood!
So how is this superfood made?
Breastmilk production is driven by a hormonal feedback loop. Nipple stimulation during breastfeeding ( #PumpingIsBreastfeeding ) releases two critical hormones:
1. Oxytocin- often called the 'love hormone' is responsible for enabling milk flow through what is called the ‘milk ejection reflex’ or ‘let down’- allowing our milk to be squeezed from the alveoli into the ducts and out of our nipples. It also creates feelings of relaxation and bonding.
2. Prolactin- the 'milk-making hormone' is responsible for stimulating more milk production in the alveoli. The more a baby nurses or a pump is used, the more milk is produced. Supply and demand in action!
Here are some fascinating facts about breastmilk…
1. **Adaptability:** The composition of breast milk changes depending on the baby's needs. It varies from feeding to feeding, day to day, and even during each feeding itself. For example, if your baby is born prematurely, your milk adapts to provide the extra nutrients needed.
2. **Unique Makeup:** It carries over 200 different types of sugar molecules (collectively called oligosaccharides), many of which can't even be digested by infants. These instead serve to feed the beneficial bacteria in the baby's gut to promote a healthy microbiome.
3. **Disease Fighting**: Breast milk is packed with antibodies and white blood cells, helping protect your baby from illness and disease. It can even respond to germs in the baby's and mother's environment by producing more infection-fighting components.
4. **Colorful Milk:** Breast milk can change color based on the mother's diet or the baby's health. For example, it can be slightly pink if the mother has eaten a lot of beets, or bright green after taking certain vitamins.
5. **Comfort to the Baby:** The scent of milk from its mother can calm a baby. Researchers have found that babies can detect their mother's unique smell and pumped Breastmilk can be calming as well as nutritious if mama is away.
Breastfeeding is our superpower, mamas! 🦸♀️

The #BabyBuddhaPump - Why I recommend it so highly.
Let's chat about WHY this pump is an absolute life-changer.
#impossible 2,200CharacterLimit 😭😩
First, it's incredibly small and lightweight, smaller than my cellphone and the design doesn’t scream ‘I’m a #Breastpump ’
It has a full range of suction options to accommodate both very gentle expression and those stronger levels that are needed by some, like me! 🙋🏼♀️
The pump also has a unique suction pattern in the stimulation mode that maximizes the potential for oxytocin release- which stimulates the milk ejection reflex- aka the letdown. This helps with the stimulation response in the milk-making hormone feedback loop and subsequent letdowns are achieved easier and quicker. Demand = Supply
But here's what truly sets BabyBuddha apart: The ability to customize this pump to use exactly the right flange size and ANY component out there that you need or want to use. I call it the Dynamic Duo- pairing a perfect fit with a powerhouse pump… you are literally unstoppable. Tailored to your own body and needs, the balance of comfort, mobility, empowerment, and efficiency is unmatched. You wont find this in a plug-in option, a wearable option, or the latest amazon cheapie made in unethical conditions.
It is designed around YOU and your needs.
Because I understand that your comfort & convenience matter just as much as your baby's nutrition.
Because you deserve the freedom to be present without compromise.
Not only has it profoundly impacted my life, but I'm so honoured to have been actively helping behind the scenes for the last 5 years to make it even more incredible and supportive of our #BreastfeedingGoals
I am thrilled to tease some exciting things coming soon!
With continued insights from real moms like you and me, we're creating new ways to support, nourish and empower each #breastfeedingmom
Stay tuned – I promise, you're going to LOVE what's to come! 🤐🤫
We deserve the best in our breastfeeding experiences and BabyBuddha has been just that for me and thousands of mamas worldwide- feeding our little ones

‘Scuse me while I hold my social media microphone 🎤 and you can’t see me crying and quite literally shaking behind my phone wearing pajamas and a mom bun, covered in milk and drool from a teething baby... 🥹
I want to thank my husband, my children, my friends and family, recipients and my incredible colleagues for everything that has supported me throughout these last 9 years. Thank you to each of you here, leaving comments and support. It lifts me up and fills my cup, which as you can see, is always pouring out.

May 19th was originally designated as World Human Milk Donation Day because on this date, originating in Brazil, the first agreement to create a network of milk banks in Latin America was signed by 13 countries and international organizations in South and Central America.
“The number of human milk banks around the world that aim to improve neonatal health through the provision of donor human milk is increasing. In 2020, it was estimated that there were 756 milk banks in 66 countries” - ncbi.nlm.nih.gov

Elisabeth Anderson-Sierra has become well-known in Beaverton, Oregon, for her decision to donate her breast milk to families in need. The mother of two has hyperlactation syndrome, causing her to produce 1.75 gallons of milk a day, with 5,000 ounces stored in her freezer. Over the past three years, the prolific milkmaker has donated 700+ gallons of milk — almost twice the world record! — in what she describes as her “labor of love.”
