January has a quiet kind of beauty, the kind that asks you to slow down, breathe deeply, and look back before moving forward.
It’s a month of stillness and clarity, where the year just passed settles into lessons, gratitude, and growth. In the hush of winter, reflection feels natural, and intention feels possible.
January reminds us that beginnings don’t have to be loud to be powerful.

Having travelled extensively over the last couple of years here are my recommended travel spots, month by month…

January - Scotland. Scotland in January is a moody, magical landscape of misty Highlands, snow-dusted castles, and quiet moments that feel timeless.

February - Venice. Venice in February is a dream of foggy canals, masked elegance during Carnival, and a rare sense of romance without the crowds.

March - Marrakesh. Marrakesh in March glows with warm days, and vibrant souks buzzing beneath clear skies.

April - Provence. Provence in April is soft and sunlit, with blooming fields, quiet villages, and the scent of spring drifting through the countryside.

May - Croatia. Croatia in May is crystal-clear seas, sun-warmed stone towns, and island days that feel blissfully unhurried before summer crowds arrive.

June - Egypt. Egypt in June is golden and timeless, where early-morning temple visits, Nile sunsets, and desert heat make history feel alive.

July - Greece. Samos in July is pure Aegean summer—sun-soaked beaches, turquoise waters and late-night tavernas.

August - Jersey. Jersey in August is all golden beaches, clear tidal pools, long sunlit days, and a relaxed island rhythm.

September - Budapest. Budapest in September is warm and romantic, with golden light along the Danube & café-lined streets.

October - London. There is no better time to visit London than autumn. With streets lined with golden crisp leaves & beautiful sunsets.

November - The Cotswolds. Let’s face it, there is never a bad time to visit the Cotswolds, but November is probably my favourite. Quieter than Christmas but with all the excitement of the festive period whilst still dressed in autumn.

A winter wonderland in Kent last week…❄️

Why does snow make everything seem so much more magical?

London has a wide and diverse range of museums and January is the perfect time to visit.
while the city quietly lulls into a peaceful sense of calm during the depths of winter and the weather keeps us indoors for the most part, what better way to spend time exploring all that London has to offer.

From gilded gowns to hidden historic homes, these five museums prove the city’s cultural scene is anything but ordinary. Whether you love fashion history, dramatic interiors, or treasure-filled townhouses, add these London gems to your must-visit list.

Save this for your next museum day ✨

1. V&A – Marie Antoinette Exhibition
Opulence, drama, and couture collide. This exhibition dives into the life and legacy of history’s most fashionable queen, featuring lavish gowns, rare objects, and the style influence that still echoes today.

2. Sambourne House
A time capsule of Victorian excess. Every inch of this house is covered in rich patterns, art, and ornate details—perfect for lovers of maximalism and hidden London treasures.

3. The Wallace Collection
Elegant, intimate, and endlessly impressive. From Old Master paintings to armour and French furniture, this grand townhouse offers world-class art without the crowds—and it’s completely free.

4. Leighton House
Where art meets theatre. Famous for its jaw-dropping Arab Hall, this former artist’s home is filled with bold colours, intricate tiles, and an atmosphere that feels straight out of a dream.

5. Sir John Soane’s Museum
Curious, clever, and wonderfully chaotic. Packed with antiquities, paintings, and architectural oddities, this museum feels more like stepping into the mind of a collector than a traditional gallery.

✨ Which one are you visiting first?

Sometimes all you need is a little winter staycation in a lakeside hut with a log fire and a private hot tub…
And I may have just found the perfect spot!

Just 30 mins from London, sits Tewinbury Farm. A riverside farm & hotel in Hertfordshire.

The perfect place to swap city-greys for farm-greens. Over the last century, Tewinbury has evolved from a dairy farm into a place to, dine, stay and enjoy over 700 acres of nature.

We stayed in a Lakeside Hut, nestled along the fishing lake amongst the trees, the Lake Huts are the latest addition to Tewinbury.

The magic of snow in London…❄️
it didn’t last long but it sure was pretty. Who else is hoping for some real snow in London this winter?

Wherever I travel I always try to find a bookshop. It’s become a bit of an obsession. So I thought I would put together a little list of my favourite London bookshops whilst I work on compiling a world wide list of magical places we call “bookshops” ✨

1. Daunt Books Marylebone is the flagship of Daunt Books, an independent chain of bookshops founded in 1990 by James Daunt. Originally specialising in travel literature, it has grown into a respected bookseller with multiple locations across London and the UK, known for its curated selection of titles and atmospheric spaces.

2. Maison Assouline is the London flagship of Assouline Publishing, a Paris-founded luxury lifestyle brand known for its high-end coffee table books on fashion, art, design, travel, and culture.

3. Cecil Court is a famous pedestrian street in central London, just off Charing Cross Road and St Martin’s Lane in the West End, known for its concentration of antiquarian, rare and specialist bookshops — earning it the nickname “Booksellers’ Row” Since the 1930s

4. Foster Books is a well-known independent bookshop in London, located at 183 Chiswick High Road in Chiswick, West London. It’s a small, charming rare and antiquarian book store that’s been run by the Foster family for over 50 years.

5. John Sandoe Books, one of London’s most celebrated independent bookshops. Founded in 1957 by John Sandoe, a former Eton schoolmaster. Sandoe opened the shop at 10 Blacklands Terrace, Chelsea, using a modest inheritance. His original vision was simple but distinctive: a small, intimate shop selling books he genuinely loved rather than chasing commercial trends.

I think I may have just found the cosiest date night spot in London…🕯️

Tucked away in Kensington, Maggie Jones’s is the definition of a cosy London date night spot, often referred to as one of the most romantic restaurants in the capital.

One of London’s oldest restaurants, dating back to 1964, and it still feels like stepping back in time with candlelit dining rooms, rustic French and British country dishes, snug corners, and a sense of old-school London charm that hasn’t changed in decades. A little slice of royal history, perfect for lingering conversations and wine by candlelight.

Originally opened as Nan’s Kitchen in 1964, before becoming famous as a low-key haunt for Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdon, who booked under the alias “Maggie Jones,” leading to the restaurant’s name change in 1970.

We couldn’t be happier to see this little London gem back open after a two year closure due to a fire.

When snow in London has us feeling like this…❄️✨

Today was an unexpected delight whilst out walking in Kensington.

#londonsnow #londonlife #prettycitylondon
They call it the most beautiful café in the world…✨
And the moment you step inside, you understand why.

The New York Café in Budapest is a masterpiece of history, art, and atmosphere, where gilded ceilings, marble columns, and live piano music turn a simple coffee into an experience. Once a gathering place for writers and artists, it still carries that old-world creative energy today.

Visit not just for the coffee, but to slow down, feel inspired, and experience Budapest at its most magical.

(Travel tip: book to avoid long wait queues, or arrive as they open to grab one of the first tables. We stayed for breakfast and were able to freely explore to take photos of this beautiful cafe. It is expensive but as you’d expect for such a famous location)

And with that… 2025 comes to an end! What an epic year! ✨

I can not wait to see what adventures 2026 has in store for me…
