For Olann, there will grounding and growth. As I work to complete many tasks from the previous few years, there will be room for new designs to emerge. New offerings for the knitter are underway and I’ll be showing up more under that umbrella in 2026. Imagery and branding will take on something new and fresh, as I find a rhythm in what I want Olann to represent and how I want it represented.
There is much to do, but there is also much to wrap up. It’s going to be such an important year and I can’t wait to really get started!
Let’s have a SALE!
At 8am this morning, use code SALE20 at checkout to receive 20% off your order. The discount applies to all hand knit items that are currently available. The discount does not apply to knitting patterns or yarn.
I’ll accept as many orders as I can knit in March, and once my calendar is full I will close garment orders for a little while, as I work on releasing more patterns, designing new products and knitting my current orders.
I will keep accessory orders open during this time.
As I navigate the sale things can move quickly. Please get in touch if you have questions about ordering or if items are listed as sold out. I will do my best to answer inquiries in a timely manner.
2026 is a big year for this small brand, and your support is so meaningful. Thank you for supporting my sale and believing in Olann as I work to bring you new offerings.
I have 4 colours of Irish Heather available for you to purchase online: Forest, Ink, Grey and Alabaster. They match beautifully with corresponding silk mohair colours: Dark Green, Navy Blue, Moonlight and Off White.
Both the wool and the silk mohair are listed on my website under the For The Knitter tab. Yardage needs for the Ella Sweater can be found on its knitting pattern page. So you can get stocked up for your next knit.
I’ll also be taking a break from knitting orders in the summer to instead focus on knitting inventory for my Fall markets during this slower time of year. So I will intentionally be closing the shop for a couple of months during the summer.
Last year I kept my prices as accessible as possible, which is always my goal. I want people to have the opportunity to own beautifully crafted artisanal pieces. But as I closed out 2025 I knew I needed to increase my pricing in 2026, to account for the inflation of my costs and make Olann sustainable.
With that in mind I am going to offer a sale beginning Saturday January 10. This will allow those who may want to take advantage of the lower prices, before the prices increase later this year, to put in their order now. I will accept as many orders as I can knit in March for this sale, and then I will put a pause on garment orders while I work on my new offerings.
Stay tuned for more details on the sale and if you have any questions in the meantime, shoot me a message!
This classic raglan design is the perfect all-day every-day design. With a neat crew neck, oversized fit and long hem and cuff ribbing, this is my go-to sweater.
Available in 10 sizes, there is some flexibility with length, so you can do a crop or make it longer.
You’ll also find some beautiful Studio Donegal Irish Heather wool and Drops Silk Mohair for sale on my website, with suggestions for complimentary colours. Both the pattern and the wool are listed under the For The Knitter tab.
Happy Knitting!
The Roulé Hat knitting pattern comes in 3 sizes from Child to Adult. And the Roulé Sweater knitting pattern is available in 10 sizes. All the details can be found online under the For The Knitter tab on my website, or on Ravelry.
I have also listed the yarn I use for these products online too, so you can buy yarn for your project!
If you’ve been keen to knit your own Roulé, go check it all out!
I’ve been finishing out the year quietly. Taking some time to contemplate the year that has passed and taking time to consider what the New Year will bring.
What will happen in business and life? How will Olann grow, and where will I find personal growth? What will blossom and what will no longer serve? How will I find balance?
There are no answers to the questions yet, but I am honouring the thoughts as they come and go, writing down intentions and ideas, and remembering the lessons of 2025.
I’m going to take more time to ease into 2026, so if I don’t show up on here as often don’t worry. For Olann, I am planning a big year and once I have more to share I will. But on a personal level I want some time to focus.
See you all soon!
A big focus for 2026 is publishing my knitting patterns and offering wool to knit those patterns. Who knows, you may even find me at a few fibre markets throughout the year! I have new designs in the works as well, so I hope to have new offerings for you to order, and also knit yourself.
I have been slowly updating parts of the website, revisiting older knitting patterns and aligning my brand, and in January I will be getting back into this work. I haven’t made too many announcements about this as I focused on my markets the past couple of months, but there has been a lot of planning occurring in the Olann studio.
So the New Year will bring more opportunities for the knitter, website updates to reflect patterns and yarn support, and a new brand identity for Olann with updated photography and new products. I have a lot of ambition, so let’s make good things happen!
2025 was a wild ride and it’s hard to believe it’s drawing to an end. Trying to fit all the moments into 90 seconds doesn’t do it justice, but here are some snippets.
We started with a move, the packing, the organizing, the moving in. A few new designs. New wool colours. Discovering the new house and garden. Friends who showed up to help with paint and DIY and a pizza party in the front yard. A new back deck. Photography that captured summer. My 10 year wedding anniversary. Publishing new knitting patterns. Knit City with and then my own Fall markets. Production knitting craziness.
It’s been a year of flux and change. Big decisions to move closer to Victoria and the work of making that happen. Now 6 months later things feel more settled.
I want to extend my biggest thanks to so many who have helped me in 2025. To Karl, for supporting our life, and becoming “Chief Chef” in our household. You bring so much laughter and loveliness to our lives. To my family for their unending support and being the sounding board to my ideas, my ups and downs. To Robin, who inspires me, and always shows up to support me. We did big things together this year. And friends who love me, flaws and all. To the artists I’ve worked with this year, and the magnificent market organizers. All amazing, strong women. I feel so embraced by you. And to all my awesome customers. I’ve loved meeting you, connecting with you and building a strong foundation for Olann. Without you, there is no me.
Nesting into my new surroundings and making future plans are now the agenda. I’m taking the last couple of weeks of this year to finish up open orders, but also settle my mind and spirit. 2026 is looking like a year of refresh, which feels exciting. Many blessings to you all, and a joyful New Year.
Thank you for supporting Olann on another turn around the sun. I have big plans for next year that I hope will finally come to fruition, so stay tuned for those updates ❤️
