Once the private garden of influential samurai lords, this tranquil 10-acre sanctuary is filled with koi ponds, red bridges, ancient stone lanterns, waterfalls, and stunning seasonal colors. It's hard to believe such peace exists in the heart of a bustling city.

Hassan Kioicho serves a luxurious 6 course menu for 10 000 Β₯ (Β£46) and oh, what a feast it is!
A sophisticated appetizer, delicate sashimi, silky chawanmushi, perfectly grilled Japanese black wagyu, and finally the star of the meal: beautifully prepared eel served the way it has been enjoyed in Japan for centuries. For sweet lovers, the meal ends with a matcha pudding. π΅
Every dish felt carefully thought out, and the private dining room made the whole experience feel incredibly special.
For Β₯10,000, this was easily one of the best value luxury dining experiences I've had in Japan.

Hidden away in Akasaka, πToyokawa Inari Betsuin is one of my favourite places to escape the buzz of Tokyo, despite being right in the heart of the city. β€οΈ
As soon as you pass through the gate, you're greeted by HUNDREDS of eyes belonging to the divine Inari foxes (zenko). Look closely and you'll notice that every single one has a different expression and personality.
And if that's not enough, there's also an adorable giant fox mascot with the cutest face ever - perfect for visitors with kids (or anyone who appreciates a bit of Japanese kawaii culture!). π¦β©οΈ
