Last month, students in the Congressional Consumer and Civil Justice Clinic took a trip to Washington, D.C. to meet with congressional staffers and distribute legislative memos on the national policy issues impacting the civil justice system that they had studied and researched throughout the semester.

On May 18, New York Law School is honored to welcome New York City Council Speaker Julie Menin as Keynote Speaker and Honorary Degree recipient at our 134th Commencement. Speaker Menin is only the second lawyer to serve as Council Speaker and has an extraordinary and deep record of public service. She has an inspiring story and unmatched set of experiences to share with our students as we celebrate our 135th anniversary of launching lawyers who helped build modern New York and are on the frontlines of advocating for justice, including at least 33 alumni who have served on the City Council and its predecessor, the Board of Alderman.
