As a designer, I’m often specifying all sorts of accent lighting on projects to be installed by professionals, but I’m going to tell you a secret- I absolutely LOVE to experiment on my own home myself.
I love the freedom and flexibility of playing with placement, position, and it absolutely makes me a better designer for my clients.
Once I cleared a path for the tape and wires (by drilling small inconspicuous holes in the corners of my cabinet) these were easy enough to install.
I got 2700 kelvin Soft White COB LED strip lighting. They are dimmable- very important!
They have a wired control pad that is discreet and a remote control. Both have excellent dimming capability. Just plug in and enjoy.

Landscape:
Right now, a birdbath or a feeder invites some life in and the joy that it brings me is almost childlike.
Now to figure out how to bring those plants back to life. This space is definitely asking for a reset.
If you have a drill and ten minutes, you can do this.
Also, this piece ends up being such a versatile addition around the house. Use it for beverages when you’re entertaining, or wheel it outside when you’re having a barbecue. Add it to your home office for pretty storage or even use it in a living room. Honestly, it looks great everywhere.

The fact that my niece wanted to help just made this little diy one of my favorites. It’s every (designer) aunt’s dream. 😍
I made these simple cabinet curtains for a custom hutch I designed for my sister’s kitchen. The hutch also features a tall pantry cabinet, a built-in refrigerator, and two freezer drawers—more on that later. I’m thrilled to announce they turned out perfect!
Now all these cabinets can be filled with real kitchen things that are more practical (and probably unsightly lol) and no one will ever know.
I’m preparing a post with all the details, tips, and tricks. Will share soon.

Since 2007, I’ve been on my own as a primarily residential interior designer. The shift was one of the hardest, but best decisions I’ve ever made. Every job I work on now is deeply personal, as I work through the hopes and dreams of each of my clients.
From traditional to contemporary, coastal to cottage, Moroccan-inspired to Balinese-influenced, dark and edgy to light and serene, I’ve had the honor to work within a variety of different styles.
