1993年に建設された大阪ガスの実験集合住宅「NEXT21」。大阪ガスの社員が実際に居住しながら、「環境」「エネルギー」「暮らし」をテーマに多様な実験と検証が重ねられてきました。立体街路や建物緑化を取り入れ、集合住宅をひとつの「街」として捉える構想のもと、さらにスケルトン・インフィル（SI）工法を採用することで、時代の変化や生活ニーズに応じた住空間の更新が試みられてきました。
本スタディツアーでは、建築家の川島範久氏を案内役に、同氏がインフィル設計を手がけた504号室に見学します。この住戸では、従来のように既存インフィルを全面的に撤去するのではなく、既存部材を可能な限り残し、それらを素材として再構成することで、空間の履歴を引き継ぎながら新たな住まいを編み直す試みが行われました。現地では、具体的な設計プロセスや空間の考え方について、設計者自身に解説していただきます。
また、過去のフェーズで改修された３つの住戸も合わせて見学し、NEXT21において長年続けられてきた住まいの実験が、各時代の中でどのように展開してきたのかを体感します。
見学会の後には、建築家であり建築構法を専門とする門脇耕三氏をゲストに迎え、NEXT21のホールにてトークイベントを開催します。今回試みられた「編み替える更新」が、一住戸の設計にとどまらず、建築全体、さらには都市の更新へどのように接続していくのか。建築構法、生産、理論といった観点から、スケルトン・インフィルや実験住宅の今日的意義と可能性について議論します。

自然とつながる建築の作り方
ゲスト：川島範久、松岡大雅
気候変動や環境問題が身近な話題となるなかで、「建築は自然とどのように関われるのか」という問いが、あらためて注目されています。木や土といった自然素材を使った建築や、周囲の環境を意識した設計が増える一方で、「自然とつながる建築」とは、実際にはどのような考え方や実践を指すのでしょうか。またそれはどのようにして実現できるのでしょうか。
本イベントでは、昨年「自然とつながる建築をめざして：川島範久 建築作品集 2007-2025」を出版された建築家・川島範久氏をゲストに迎え、自然とつながる建築とは何か、実現に向けた試行錯誤のプロセスについてお話しいただきます。また作品集の編集・デザインを手がけた studios TRUE の松岡大雅氏にもトークに参加していただきます。建築に詳しい方はもちろん、これから建築に触れてみたい方にも開かれたトークイベントです。また、会場にて部数限定の作品集の販売も行います。ぜひこの機会にご覧ください。

遅めの秋の気配を感じつつ
落ち葉や植物の観察を通して
自然のサイクルと庭づくりの奥深さを学びました。
「コンポストベンチ」に落ち葉を投入し、
堆肥化の仕組みを実際に体験したり、
もみじの赤ちゃんを植え替えてみたり、
自然とのつながりを五感で感じるひとときでした。
神勝寺の庭の循環をテーマにした川島範久の展示は、引き続き会場でご覧いただけます。
