आइये तो जानते हैं की कैसे बॉलीवुड ने 50 सालों में बिहार की एकतरफा छवि बेची है

पिछले कई दशकों से बॉलीवुड ने बिहार को अक्सर एक ही तरह से दिखाया है। फिल्मों और वेब सीरीज़ में बिहार का मतलब बना दिया गया:

अपराध
अपहरण
भ्रष्टाचार
गरीबी
दबंगई
राजनीतिक हिंसा
और मज़ाकिया लहजा

इसका मतलब यह नहीं कि बिहार में समस्याएँ नहीं हैं। हर समाज में समस्याएँ होती हैं। लेकिन असली समस्या है “सिर्फ वही चीज़ बार-बार दिखाना।”

बिहार सिर्फ अपराध की जगह नहीं है। यह वही भूमि है जहाँ:

नालंदा जैसे विश्वविख्यात विश्वविद्यालय रहे,
बड़ी साहित्यिक परंपरा रही,
लोक संगीत और लोक कला विकसित हुई,
थिएटर और संस्कृति मजबूत रही,
लाखों मेहनतकश लोगों ने देश बनाया।
लेकिन फिल्मों में बिहार को ज्यादातर बंदूक, गाली और डर के रूप में दिखाया गया।

शुरुआती फिल्मों में बिहार

1970 और 1980 के दशक की फिल्मों में बिहार को अक्सर:

जमींदारी,
डकैत,
पिछड़े गाँव,
और कानूनहीन इलाकों
के रूप में दिखाया गया।
धीरे-धीरे “बिहारी” शब्द का मतलब बना दिया गया:
रूखा बोलने वाला,

कम पढ़ा-लिखा,
और पिछड़ा व्यक्ति।
