Many young professionals dream of working for a big-name architect. They hope that working there will make them stand out and eventually become a partner and an important person in the company. I understand this feeling because I was like that before. I was told that Zaha Hadid doesn’t notice you at first, but then you become Patrick Schumacher. That may be true, but Patrick is not only an architect; he is also a researcher and a methodologist. He was with Zaha from the very beginning of the firm. As the company grows, the structure becomes more rigid, competition increases, and such stories become so rare that they are almost impossible.
Many young architects and designers stay late at work because they think it will help them succeed. They put their hearts into their work, see the office as their home, and consider their colleagues like family. They don’t want your soul; they want you to be productive. If you give more than you get, the system has no remorse - it just works. And don’t get me wrong. I’m not trying to talk you out of working for corporations. You can go there. Sometimes, you need to do that. But you can’t go there naively.
If you're going to a big office, go with a clear understanding of why you're going there, for how long, and what exactly you want to get out of it. You need to approach established structures utilitarianly, as a tool with a sober view of how the system works. For example, it is useful to know that the chance of reaching senior management in a star firm is 0.1%– 1 %, taking into account decades of joint work. Not because the rest are worse, but because that is how the system works. According to UK and EU surveys, 70–90% of architects regularly work overtime. Overtime is presented as a “temporary stage for growth,” but very often it is simply cheap energy that is exploited to the maximum while the person believes in future rewards. And if overtime is widespread and constant, it is not a personal choice, but a business model. The BIG case illustrates this well.

Between Stillness and Steel –
Between Stillness and Steel –

Nissa approaches the object as a psychological and cultural structure rather than a purely functional artifact. Through tension lines, volumes and structural emptiness, she explores themes of self-identification, memory and the relationship between body, space and origin. Her objects often exist in a liminal state between sculpture and design, where function becomes secondary to spatial and emotional resonance.
Working primarily with metal and architectural materials, she develops collectible pieces that engage with weight, balance and latent movement. In recent years, her works have been increasingly presented within institutional and curatorial contexts, where the objects appear as autonomous entities within the exhibition space rather than as utilitarian products.

I serve art. I worship it. I worship it as the primary proof of God's existence. I bow down to it as if it were the language of God. I worship it as if it were God Himself.
And we're trying to understand art. As if it's something that can be understood. Whereas God is unknowable.
It's not just unknowable. It's something that should be forbidden to be understood.
And religion for me is art. It also has its own style and ways of expressing God. And there is also the denial of the other. Who says you can't be interested in everything at the same time?
When I talk about religion, I don't mean specific faiths. Religion is like a gesture of belief. If I believe, I just believe. I am already serving God. In service we are one.
And in this sense, love is faith. We believe that with this person we will find peace. And the problem is that peace comes to us in complicated ways. It almost never comes in a simple way.
That's why art has to be complicated. Impregnable the first time and impregnable the second time. The third time we learn to feel. And to see art with the heart.
