Niji lantern bulb ver.2 _ RGB _ lotus flower pattern 🪷 & a nit shade 🧶.
.
I hung it low useing a hanging rod light stand. Since the cieling fixture isn't centered over the tatami mat, I pulled out a ikea floor lamp that was in the back of the room so I could set it up temporarily.
.
In other words, I can now project light onto the floor anywhere, regardless of the room. As long as I have a battery, I can even do it outdoors.
.
The shade of the Niji Lantern Bulb Ver. 2 is open at the bottom, so it also creates a spotlight-like effect.
.
In Japan, there are the Seven Gods of Good Fortune, including a god named Ebisu who is depicted holding fishing gear and a sea bream. I’ve been thinking it would be great if I could “catch” musicians using light as bait—and have music just start playing on its own in my room. 😃
.
I’d love to create an installation performance where I’m “Rainbow Ebisu,” holding this light fixture and a rainbow fish.
.
Since everyone bought my works, I moved to a slightly larger room, and I’m gradually making it more comfortable. I feel like I’m finally starting to figure out how to experiment with this new tatami space.

Niji lantern bulb ver.2 _ Spores fireworks pattern _ RGB🦠🎇📊✨
.
I hung Niji lantern bulbs low from the ceiling and created a mandala and a spotlight space on the floor.
.
I want to have someone play a synthesizer or as a DJ in this tatami room.
.
By the way, the instruments on the display are my handmade Norns shield and Grid128. I plan to try selling them in Japan sometime soon.
.
Anyway, I really like this pattern, but it doesn't seem to be very popular worldwide. Haha.
.
Back in my school days, I was on the rugby team, in the biology club, and in the art club, so I feel a certain kinship with these atmosphere.
.
It’s almost as if the view through a microscope, a rugby game, and a fireworks display have all overlapped, isn’t it?
.
and that is my mandala.

a small experiment. ☀️🔮🏳️‍🌈✨
.
I discovered a way to effectively extend the spectrum on the wall from a glass mirror ball, and I also found that by distorting sunlight, I could distort that spectrum.
.
Japan is about to enter the rainy season, and it looks like we won't see any sunshine for about a month.
.
So, for the time being, I plan to post some experiments that I haven't shared before.🫡🏳️‍🌈✨

PINK rainbow SP 🌈🩷👅🧠👚🐽🌸🎀
.
Niji CD lighting + A PINK LED. 💿🩷🏳️‍🌈✨
.
A few years ago, when I hung a CD chandelier at a friend’s house, paired it with a pink neon sign right next to it. The light from the two seemed to go together in a strange way, which puzzled me.
.
As I thought about it, I realized that pink isn’t actually part of the spectrum, and I’ve wanted to create a situation where the two are integrated ever since.
.
Yeah, it suddenly dawned on me that I should have just placed the light source on top of the CD. Haha. I also realized that by reducing the reflective surface area of the CD, I could adjust the width of the ring.
.
When we create a spectrum, pink doesn’t actually appear. Due to differences in wavelength, it’s difficult for blue and red light to meet, so why do people perceive it?
.
It’s because it’s a special hue created by human visual perception. The human eye contains L, M, and S cone cells:
• L cones (long wavelengths, red)
• M cones (medium wavelengths, green)
• S cones (short wavelength, blue)
Pink occurs when the L and S cones are strongly stimulated simultaneously, while the M cones are relatively weak. The brain must process this “contradiction.” Although green lies between red and blue on the spectrum, no green signal is received. The brain recognizes this as “something that does not exist on the spectrum” and creates its own perceptual category. That is pink.
.
That's right—we needed pink to bridge the gap between red and blue.
.
Green is a mysterious color, too. Humans have a surprisingly broad range of perception for what they recognize as green. Apparently, this may be the result of our brains having evolved to specialize in discerning the gradations within the color green.
.
Maybe that’s why I like the combination of pink and green.

Niji minineon earring _ rhythm rainbow_wwwww ver. 👂👻🤍🏰🐑🕊️🐇🦢🐁✨♫
.
Thank you for purchasing RYGBPver. 🙏🏳️‍🌈✨.I’ve created the next prototype.
.
Whenever I create a colorful piece, someone usually asks me to make it white, so I usually make the piece white too.🙃.
.
If you look at these two, you should be able to imagine the color scheme between them, so please feel free to place an order using your favorite color scheme.
.
Next, I’m thinking of creating a flashing pattern that spells out words of blessing using Morse code. I think it would be really cool if each of the five lights represented a different word of blessing. I imbue the flickering light with meaning. Conceptual flickering light art.

Three niji lantern bulbs.📊📊📊♻️✨.
.
Someone bought three different types of Niji Lantern bulbs—each with a different pattern and color scheme—all at once, which made this experiment possible. Thank you. RGB Arabesque, CMY Peacock Sun, and WYP Spiral Heart Attack. I also included a three-prong socket as a bonus. In other words, this lighting should be on its way. 🙏🏳️‍🌈✨
.
In Japan, the vibrant color schemes found in Shinto and Buddhist traditions are known as “gokusaishiki #極彩色.” While mandalas are the most famous examples, these colors are also used in religious architecture. I’m an architect by training, and I love these styles; I wanted to create a space where people could forget their worries. Since I haven’t yet had the chance to design such a building, I kept thinking about how I could achieve something similar using light—and this is the result.🫡💫✨
.
At a glance, it looks mostly white, but if you look closely, it’s actually very vivid. It resembles a spectrum, and it also resembles our society and culture. When cultures blend together, they create an ambiguous, strange, and mysterious ecosystem. That peaceful coexistence is what makes us vibrant. Since richness can’t exist without different colors, I really wish we could put an end to war.

Niji lantern bulb ver.2 _ CMY lotus & OPM lotus
.
RGB means Red🟥 and Green🟩 and Blue🟦.
CMY means Cyan🩵 and Magenta🩷 and Yellow💛.
OPM means Orange🍊 and Purple🫟 and Mintgreen🍵
.
Patterns of three different colors overlap, creating a complex interplay of hues.
.
I live in Tokyo, where rent is so high that I can’t afford a very spacious apartment. My place is overflowing with stuff, and basically, there aren’t any walls left to hang anything on. So I think I just spotted a blank spot on the ceiling and started wondering if I could do something with it.
.
And I thought that if there were a light like this on the ceiling, I could just stare at it and get through those moments when I lay in bed feeling gloomy and dwelling on unpleasant things.
.
I also pray that the black-and-white world of your dreams will be filled with color.
.
If anything, I’m aiming for a mood that’s a bit melancholic silent yet colorful, but of course, feel free to use it for an upper mood as well.
.
Unraveling rigid mindsets, like a spectrum.

Niji minineon earrings _ Rhythm rainbow was born!👂🏳️‍🌈♫
.
Thank you to everyone who bought RYGBP niji minineon earnings. I’ve found a way to express what lies beyond. I wanted to give the rainbow not just rotation, but rhythm—as if it were speaking to you.
.
I'm getting the hang of designing and ordering DIY circuit boards. In other words, I’m now able to create designs that were impossible to achieve by hand alone.
.
I wanted to explore what kind of movements, as the rainbow appeared and faded, would create a sense of wonder.
.
In Tibetan Buddhism, there is a profound teaching known as the "Rainbow Body," which holds that at the end of one's life, a person vanishes from this world in the form of a rainbow. I've often wondered what it would be like to be able to practice that.
.
The first video shows a polyrhythmic flash. Each element is simply playing on/off patterns at different rhythms, but when viewed as a whole, it appears to be playing a mysterious sequence.
.
I’ve been really into a programming synthesizer called Norns for the past few years, and while I was learning about the concept of granular synthesis, I felt like I could manipulate the impression of light in the same way.
.
Next, I wanted to explore different types of flashing patterns. For now, the product allows you to switch between the following simple patterns using the on/off switch.
.
Second video shows 8 animation modes.
Mode 1: Polyrhythm
Mode 2: Double Speed Polyrhythm
Mode 3: Build-up & Fade-out
Mode 4: Chaser
Mode 5: Ping-Pong
Mode 6: All Flash
Mode 7: All On

👩‍🔬💿💦🌊🚰🌈🫟🏳️‍🌈🔦✨
.
I’ve resumed my experiment of creating a water surface on top of a CD to make the spectrum shimmer. I used to do this experiment 10 years ago, but back then, the light from the bulb was too dim to illuminate the room on its own.
.
Also, one of my petri dishes broke during the move. I bought a new one for the first time in two years.
.
Now, however, the bulbs are much brighter, casting light throughout the entire room, so the effect is much easier to see.
.
In my post two entries ago, I saw a mysterious spectrum created by the ripples in the water, and it suddenly hit me that I had to get back to this project.
.
Also, it seems Olafur Eliasson recently unveiled a similar piece. He’s been following me for years. I thought I was the one doing the chasing him, but before I knew it, I was the one being chased.haha.
.
In his case, only a single spectral band is obtained from a lens formed by shaping a triangular prism into a circular shape, whereas in my case, due to the effects of diffraction and interference from the diffraction grating, first-, second-, and third-order spectra appear, and one can observe them gradually spreading out.
.
Also, in his case, since it has some thickness, they can’t put anything on top of it easily, but in my case, since it’s flat, I can place various things on top of it and easily change the shape of the spectrum.
.
Given my background in the culture of Buddhist mandalas, I feel that the context is missing as to why he suddenly chose to depict it in the gallery ceiling.
.
Even if I explain it using the conceptual language and context of the art world, art people just ignore it, so it feels like I’m talking about something as elusive as trying to catch a cloud.
.
Well, I suppose that might tie in with the Buddha’s teaching that everything is empty sky.
.
To be honest, one of the reasons I wanted to create this was because, when I was 20 and feeling anxious about the future, I saw a circular rainbow in the sky and it made me feel much better.
.
I made these so I could keep my chin up and move forward.
.

yeah...holy sunshine...I didn't sell the niji mirror version and the transparent prism film version because I felt they weren't very effective, but this one had great effects in all directions.... Ofcourse The dichroic film alone has a very good light scattering, so it is second to none... Right now I'm making one type of film, but now I'm going to make a composite of four types of film... Also, I remember why I choose the crystal shape first. It was a little distorted. It looks like I'm not in a perfect shape... But the slightly lacking impression becomes individuality and creates a new one... I can imagine myself dancing in a live house surrounded by the sounds... Also, the shape with only one side open has a good effect. When we have the heart to accept something, wonderful things enter it... If you grow up little by little and someday reach the place where the light stabs you, the world will surely shine around you... I found myself on a spinning CD with a rainbow light and scattered sound, and I have grown up to this point...
.
.
.
Thank you for your continued support... I hope it will be better delivered to the USA...
