Iāll be real, Iāve had a real fear of racing the marathon since Eugene almost 2 years ago now. I havenāt gone all out in a marathon since then. I think Iāve let that fear build for too long and today I faced it head on and ran my 2nd fastest marathon. Growing up I always quit when I was scared of something so now Iām making it my goal in life to always try even if it terrifies me. Iām proud of today. I raced the marathon all out and the journey to getting faster continues.
Sometimes we can lose sight of why we run. This happens to me a lot. Running Boston was so surreal and it reinvigorated my passion for running. That finish line was a feeling Iāll always remember. So grateful to be able to run.

I wanted so badly to write 2:49 something for this caption but it didnāt turn out that way.
Thereās so much going through my mind right now. This was the biggest dogfight of my life. There were many moments I wanted to quit. But I never gave up on myself. Iām proud of myself for persevering to the end even when I felt my goal slipping from my hands.
This is just life. You arenāt always going to achieve the goal you set for yourself right away. It may take multiple attempts. But you arenāt made strong by only successes in life. Itās the times you fall short of your goal when you are faced with the decision to give up or try again. Itās hard for me to accept that in this moment. But this isnāt the end. Iām so proud of the race I ran. Today was a huge 6 minute PR for me in my third marathon.
