I'm on nights shifts this week and I didn't fancy battling a beach afternoon in the baking hot sun with 4 boys knowing it would be chaos to park and chaos to drag everything and everyone to the beach on minimal sleep.
So I opted for our village river which has shaded areas and it was absolute bliss. Peaceful. Then home for a BBQ before I head off for my 2nd night shift.
Your days in the school holiday don't have to be rammed and busy. They can be chilled, slow, at home and local. Don't feel guilty for not rushing to the beach or rushing to do something because the sun is out. The slower days are just as good and just as memorable.

A meltdown in public doesn't mean a child is 'bad' and as parents we've all been there but I feel like some forget.

Let's remember how we were as children. Because I sure as hell wasn't quiet or calm. I was loud. I ran around carefree, happy with big feelings.

We had the best day at the Eden Project on Saturday exploring the Lloyd of the flies event. From the interactive bug hunt and crafts to story time, games and meeting real life creatures 🐌 🦂
The new marble run was a HUGE hit with the boys (and we can't wait to go back and do it again) they loved finding all the different sections and watching their marble race around.
We explored the biomes, spotted the bananas and pineapples growing in the rainforest 🍌🍍, caught the grow show in the Mediterranean and finished the day in Natures playground with a splash in the water play!
Honestly this event has been one of my favourites at Eden so far! So much to see and do for all ages!

Devon County Show this weekend is fun for all ages. Me and Oaks had a brilliant time soaking up the sun whilst exploring the show!
From making his own pasty to meeting all the animals (especially the Pygmy goats) there is SO much to see and do all day long.
A couple of our favourite spots was the Family Zone and Farm Wise Devon for Oakley they were perfect!
Oakley absolutely loved collecting different stickers from different stands, especially the one he got for the CPR and of course collecting the sweets from the stands 😂. There are lots of free activities to keep little ones entertained throughout the day too!
