Brazilian Rosewood, Cherry, White oak, Brass
“The "Layton Desk" pays homage to Jere Osgood, my long time friend who I assisted for over 30 years. The wood is from his personal collection and the design was inspired by his lively Layton Table. The desk expresses my interest in sculptural form as furniture.”
On display now as part of our “Joined Together” exhibition at the Currier Museum of Art, open through February 8.

A unique collaborative effort with Tom McLaughlin and David Lamb presents a settee to be offered in the silent auction of the gala opening of the Furniture Master’s 30th anniversary exhibition on Thursday, October 9 at the Currier Museum of Art.
The settee was made by David Lamb while teaching a specialized hands-on course, “Exquisite Settee” as part of a workshop experience at Epic Woodworking, Tom McLaughlin’s shop in Canterbury, NH. The majority of courses at Tom’s woodworking school are available online at
The in-person class by David Lamb was a special opportunity for six students to experience the craft up close in person with a true master.
After the build, Tom finished the piece and MAQ Design created the upholstered slip seat.
The settee has a $5,000 retail value. Starting bid is $1000. Available in-person only at the Oct. 9 gala opening. All proceeds support Furniture Masters programs.
