Alcuni di voi forse ricordano che ho avuto la fortuna e il piacere di collaborare con hotel, agenzie del turismo ed enti sparsi in tutto il mondo, il che ovviamente mi ha arricchito e mi ha permesso di vivere avventure che porterò con me per sempre.
Quello che mi mancava, tuttavia, era "il cortile di casa", conoscere cioè quello che ho sempre avuto sotto il naso e non ho mai veramente apprezzato, la mia terra.
Da qui nacque l'idea di un tributo, una sorta di ringraziamento ad un posto che ho odiato e amato al tempo stesso, che mi ha dato e mi ha tolto tanto ma che ogni giorno mi continua a stupire. Del resto quale luogo ti offre mare e neve allo stesso tempo, tre parchi nazionali, la vista al tramonto più bello del mondo dentro la bocca di un vulcano, tradizioni antichissime e un cibo a dir poco squisito? Ma soprattutto, quale luogo nonostante tutto ciò è ancora così selvaggio, misterioso e sconosciuto?
Inizialmente l'idea era pubblicarlo ad Aprile dello scorso anno, ma incontri inaspettati e nuove esperienze mi hanno consentito di aspettare un momento più opportuno.
Credo che chiunque debba fare qualcosa nel suo piccolo per ricordare le proprie radici. Un antico proverbio del Québec ricorda che "i genitori dovrebbero donare due cose ai propri figli: ali per volare e radici per tornare".
Questo sarà il mio "lascito" per questa terra.
Anticipo che non sarà il mio ultimo video, e quindi prego tutti coloro che provengono da posti non menzionati (per questioni di tempo e spazio) di non prenderla troppo a male. Dopotutto ancora sono qui, e magari ci sarà spazio per nuove visite e avventure, chissà
