Located on the happening Portobello Road in Notting Hill, Gold is a chic yet informal fine dining restaurant with a refreshing and intimate vibe. They serve sharing seasonal plates cooked in wood oven as their USP.
Their menu is broad with an entire Vegetarian section which was a big plus for us. Each person is expected to order 2-3 plates.

Food - Excellent
Service - Excellent

Deal, a small Kent town with giant sized charm. Think turquoise water, serene sea, shingle beach, a photogenic pier, Georgian streets, and a Tudor castle right by the sea. You can spend the day wandering the charming streets of the town centre, eating at the vibrant cafés, visiting the castle and the Sandown community garden or just lazing by the beach
Walmer beach and the castle is a walkable 1.5 miles away.
We landed here on the holiday weekend when London was sweltering at 32C and it was a pleasant surprise to find a beautiful sunny town minus the crazy crowds with a pleasant 19C max temperature. As soon as we reached we felt we should have booked an overnight stay as we did not feel like going back..

How to get there
🚗Deal is around 75 miles from London and takes around 2.5 hours of drive. There are plenty of parking lots near the town centre as well as the beach
🚊There is a direct train by South Eastern railways to Deal which takes little over 2 hours

Varenna is without doubt the prettiest town to explore in Lake Como which you need to include in your itinerary. Few facts which would be helpful

🔶 The best way to reach Varenna is through a ferry from Bellagio. It’s not easily accessible by road.
🔶 There is a direct train from Milan Central to Varenna in case you want to make Varenna as your base to explore rest of Lake Como towns.
🔶 It’s best to buy a day pass for the Central Ferry Route which would allow you unlimited trips to Bellagio, Menaggio, Varenna and Lenno on slow ferry service in a day. This way you don’t need to wait in long queues to buy each way ferry tickets. Mind you there is anyways a long queue from Bellagio to Varenna and vice versa to get on to the Ferry. We experienced this even in the beginning of May which is not even the peak season
🔶Villa Cipressi and Villa Monestero are both in Varenna. Villa Cipressi has the famous gates opening into the lake. We had not done our research well so ended up choosing Villa Cipressi to visit. It’s a hotel with a lovely botanical garden accessible to public through tickets. While the gardens were pretty but there was a very long slow moving queue to take pictures next to the famous gate. We stood in the queue for some time then gave up. In retrospect we felt we should have done Villa Monestero which has much bigger gardens and a palace museum. If you have more time you can do both the villas as there is a economical combined ticket available to cover both the attractions
🔶 We loved coffee, desserts and sandwiches at Bar II Molo. It has the prettiest views of the lake which itself made it worth it for us. The desserts were sumptuous. This is an excellent place for enjoying the sunset in Varenna
We wanted to stay for longer in Varenna but also wanted to cover Menaggio on that same day. Would definitely love to go back to this charming town.

[PR/Invite]A meal at Bella Italia never disappoints. Comfort Italian food, relaxed atmosphere, and authentic flavors that not only fill you but satisfy your craving along with the appetite. Not to mention the warm homely service which immediately puts you at ease

We went to the South Kensington branch of Bella Italia and had a great experience The drinks we ordered were refreshing.
The pasta was melting in the mouth delicious. The calzone was perfect with sumptuous filling and just the right crust. Tiramisu is always good.

Bella Italia always delivers and which explains why they are one of the top Italian restaurant chains in the UK ❤️❤️

Thanks for having us, we loved the food as always. Would be back for more

Rhododendron Dell at Kew Gardens is in full bloom right now. And it is so peaceful and magical to explore as not too many people come to this side of the gardens which makes it even more special. Laburnum Tunnel in Queen’s garden behind Kew Palace is also in full bloom creating a dreamy golden magical sight. Roses are also in bloom apparently ahead of their usual time, but I did not go to the rose garden as I found later that they are in bloom.

Do visit before the magic fades over next week or so!

This is one of the places that I can’t stop thinking and dreaming about even after returning. Lake Como had been on my bucket list for years. Had almost booked a trip when Covid hit. Since then have visited so many more places that I felt that this place may not live upto the high expectations we have. But how wrong I was, after a long time any place has mesmerized me so much that I feel I have left a part of me there such is the beauty and vibe of Lake Como

If you visit Budapest, your trip won’t be complete till you visit New York Cafe. Built in 1894 this beautiful cafe was the beloved and the most visited cafe among the scholars, poets etc till it went into disrepair after WW2. It was restored to its past splendor in 2006. Built in Italian renaissance style with ornate columns, chandeliers it immediately transports you to another era. It frequently gets the Most Beautiful Cafe in the world award and one can see why!!

Despite being so busy the food is prepared and presented lovingly and the service is top notch.

✅Note: There are no reservations available from 8 am to 6 pm and the table is first come first serve. We reached around 12 noon and were surprised to see a very long queue. But fortunately we got the table within 15-20 min and the wait was absolutely worth it

How to reach
The cafe is 5 min walk from Blaha Ludza ter which is on Metro line M2. Alternatively it’s a 25 min walk from the Chain Bridge

Budapest has such an amazing transformation at the golden hour. As the skies turn pink, the views become prettier. On both sides of the river, people line up to await turning on of the lights. We enjoyed the golden hour on the Buda side and as the buildings and bridges were lit up we started walking on the illuminated Chain bridge to enjoy the views from the other side and experience the magical sights in Pest. Totally memorable.

The one thing to know if you are staying in Buda is that restaurants close early for dinner and only offer drinks afterwards. We had a sort of fiasco as we left the bustly Pest riverside after a drink thinking of having dinner near St Mathias church but all the places we went to were either closed or were closing. So we ended up eating in our hotel where luckily restaurant was still accepting orders at 10 pm. Post dinner we went to a stroll on now deserted Fisherman’s Bastion which felt great to see it sans the crowds

Budapest is essentially two cities Buda and Pest connected by beautiful bridges on Danube River. Buda is the more historic and quieter side of this metropolis and Pest is the vibrant one. We planned it as a springtime trip, but it felt like summer with warm temperature, bright sun and trees fully green.

In this reel, I have primarily covered the landmarks and vibe on the Buda side of the city.

Will post subsequent reels with the itinerary and recommendations ❤️❤️

Built in 1994, Castillo Colamares is a monument in the shape of a castle. It celebrates the life and adventures of Columbus as he went about his discoveries of new lands. It mainly represents the artist Esteban Martin’s views rather than historical facts who took close to 7 years to build this impressive structure. It’s really interesting for history enthusiasts to understand more about the discoveries

📍Costa Del Sol,
Benalmádena, Málaga, Spain

Tip: Try to go early to avoid the crowds!
It’s a cute place where you can spend a couple of hours. Tickets are very nominally priced at €3 per person
