自分自身の父と母を模した一つの着ぐるみを着る映像パフォーマンス作品。表裏のないリバーシブル構造の着ぐるみを纏ったり、脱いだりしながら自身の外的世界と内的世界の接点や、アイデンティティについて探求している。着ることで一人でしか体現できない二人の人物を交互に往き来し、様々な二項対立の中間地点に立つ私、当時22歳の状態を表現した。
22 is a video performance work in which I wear a reversible costume modeled after my father and mother. Through the repeated acts of dressing and undressing a garment with no fixed front or back, I investigate the relationship between my internal and external worlds and the construction of identity. By inhabiting two figures through a single body, I move fluidly between contrasting positions and perspectives. The work reflects my state at the age of twenty-two, standing in the space between multiple binaries—father and mother, Japanese and Ghanaian, self and other—and questioning where identity resides within those intersections.
