Through my travels, Iβve made numerous friends from all kinds of backgrounds, nations, political views, religions, ideologies and agnostic people too. Each of them and many others I hope to meet on my travels are like rays of light that illuminate the big picture of the real world, the one we all share on equal rights of Human.
Watching/reading news in 3 (sometimes in 4) languages does keep me up at night every now and then. Our world has never been neither connected nor separated as much as it is now. We each belong to a nation that is at the hands of those who drags us down with their our own agendas, feeding us threats of some kind of aggressions and stirring up hatred towards people like ourselves. After the attack, I went off radar for over a year, only coming back online when my mum got very sick. I thought I was losing her and I had to seek help to get to back to Moscow to take care of her for a few weeks. Those of you who helped me back then know that I remember each of you and Iβll be forever grateful. It was then, for the first time that I started to speak about my attack, but still holding back and not openly talking of all the horror done to me.β

Only after winning the case, I came out and opening up. And only a year after, when I went back to Bolivia for this film and visited to the prison they are now all in, did I feel my wounds healed.β

I know first-hand how that lump in your throat is ever present after such abuse and how dark the shadow is we walk in each day. But I want to change that.β

About 6 months ago I returned to Bolivia to take part in a documentary. I had been contacted by Al Jazeera who had heard of my story and wanted to make a short film about it. Part of the filming offered me the opportunity to meet with other survivors of sexual abuse and to give talks to students who one day will be working with other victims in the future. β
β
The documentary also involved me going to the prison where my abusers are and being able to confront them face to face. I didnβt realise beforehand, but going to the prison and telling them how I felt for the first time since the rape would be exactly what I needed to accomplish my healing.β
β
Since then my entire being is lighter and brighter, there is no weight on my shoulders anymore. I want to fly. And I do even so if it's running, riding, climbing, swimming. I am so happy to be alive and proud of myself.β

This week the film is coming out. I am nervous and excited. I will share the link and date soon. The only thing I ask of you, those who will watch it is, don't be sorry for me or think of me as a "victim". I am a phoenix and I have no limits. πβ

This photo is a projection of a female beauty that I inherited from my mum. I am referring not to physical beauty, but to the yang energy and her example of a woman, who always looks after herself. Even when Russia went through the recession and my mum had a hell of a time try to work and graft as much as was humanely possible, she never lost her ability to stay beautiful, make an effort and kept her head up, even if I heard her crying at night. Even her home clothes were always clean and nice, her hair always done. β

This dress was made from one my drawings and I choose the fabric. Itβs as soft and strong as my mum, even if you crumble it, it straighten after a minute, and itβs colour, the colour of the sun and life. That's also the reason why I have it in my logo. Yellow for mum and blue for me; mother and daughter are far apart but always connected..β
