We are pleased to announce the second release on West Hill Music, the sub-label curated by Mystic Jungle, founder of Periodica Records, who over the past years has developed a distinctive sonic identity alongside a close circle of collaborators working from his studio located in the hills above Naples.

This project also functions as a platform for studio collaborations and features the voice of American singer Roxana, alongside guitar work by Igor Sekulović. The A-side, “Can’t Make You Out”, unfolds with a crepuscular mood and a laid-back, exotic atmosphere shaped by subtle funk-rock influences. It retains a lo-fi, analogue-driven character with nods to Mediterranean musical culture and 1980s synth-pop aesthetics. On the B-side, “Mountain River” takes a more stripped-down approach, built on lean electronic drum programming and a mutant funk structure. Sekulović’s guitar lines and Roxana’s recurring vocal hook sit within a minimal arrangement focused on texture and tonal detail.

“Can’t Make You Out / Mountain River” will be available from May 15, 2026. Wholesale distribution via The Pusher. Pre-orders are now open on Bandcamp and at selected independent record stores.

We are proud to launch our new side-catalog, West Hill Music. The first release drops on February 24 as a vinyl-exclusive edition. It will not be available in digital format and has already sold out on Bandcamp. Wholesale and distribution handled by The Pusher.

West Hill Studio is the place where the sound that has defined all the productions and artistic projects connected to the Periodica Records label was developed.
Located in the hills of Naples, it’s a private recording studio immersed in a small woodland and isolated from the city. A small wooden lodge and vintage equipment made it possible to create and convey, through music and ideas, a precise musical aesthetic that transcends contemporaneity and current trends.
The catalogue is personally curated by Mystic Jungle - born Dario di Pace - music and executive producer and founder of both Periodica and Futuribile. Well known for a distinctive sound that has unpredictably ranged from mutant-disco to soft-rock and reggae-inflected explorations for over a decade, he now presents two new electronic funk/rock tracks in collaboration with Yugoslavian guitarist Igor Sekulovič. A pair of deliberately raw cuts, with the B-side conceived as an homage to a seminal 1985 digital reggae riddim built from a preset on the Casiotone MT-40.

Working in a second-hand record shop like Futuribile Record Club means being immersed in a continuous and stimulating process of listening and musical discovery, balancing personal enjoyment with the need to catalog and update the inventory. Exploring everything this kind of activity has to offer is essential, as it is fueled primarily by the passion for sharing with the public the music I consider worthwhile or that simply reflects my tastes. For this reason, I find it hard to define Futuribile as a “record store” in the traditional sense: I see it more as an enthusiasts’ club that invites people to listen and, if they wish, take a piece of music home.
In a time when compiling a digital playlist has become easy, sterile, and lacking charm, I decided to create “physical” ones, drawing tracks from the Futuribile archive (not my private collection) and mixing them directly on the console & recording onto a cassette deck, just like in the old days. A handpicked selection of records, connected by country, mood, era, or genre, and mixed on site: rare & cheap discoveries, forgotten gems, sources of inspiration, and timeless classics. All mixes are available to listen to on my SoundCloud page (link in bio) and I try to update it weekly, monthly, or simply whenever I have the time to do it.

Last summer, my longtime friend Massimo Di Lena told me he had come across an unknown record - titled "Punjabi Disco" by Mohinder Kaur Bhamra - which, according to him, could be considered as seminal for Indian electronic music as Charanjit Singh’s famous "Ten Ragas To A Disco Beat". Recognizing its exceptional cultural and musical value, especially when placed in the historical context in which it was created - 1981 - he immediately brought it to the attention of Naya Beat, the label most committed to rediscovering and sharing the sounds of India’s past. Knowing the kind of work they would do, he helped establish a connection between me and Raghav Mani so we could discuss creating an alternative version of a track of my choosing. Several other artists were also involved in the project, including my adventure partners R. Arcella and E. Fierro (aka Danger Boys), who superbly reinterpreted another track. I embraced the idea with enthusiasm and selected an up-tempo piece to rework into a stripped-down reggae version that would preserve the spirit of the original.

Produced by Mohinder’s eldest son, bhangra pioneer Kuljit Bhamra, using a Roland SH-1000 synthesizer and a CR-8000 drum machine, the album’s concept was later stolen by the very label meant to distribute it. Left without industry support, Punjabi Disco was self-released and soon disappeared into obscurity - until now. If you want to know more about the fascinating story behind it, an excellent article has been published in The Guardian. Critically acclaimed and voted “Best New Reissue” by Pitchfork, the record is now available in all major record stores, distributed by The Pusher.

OUT NOW! Featuring a sun-drenched reggae-inspired remix from Mystic Jungle, ‘Mainu Apne Pyar Wich’ is the second single from our reissue of a lost “holy grail”, Mohinder Kaur Bhamra’s 1982 masterpiece ‘Punjabi Disco’.

‘Mainu Apne Pyar Wich’ is a fast-paced reggae-not-reggae groover with an infectious melody hook replete with beautiful synth flute runs and plenty of laser pew pews. A central figure and purveyor of the “Neapolitan Sound”, celebrated producer, DJ, and Periodica Records label boss, Dario di Pace aka Mystic Jungle, doubles down on the reggae feel of the original. Stripping the track to its essentials and slowing the tempo way down, he transforms the original into a groovy head bopper. A fat synth bass sets the stage for Mohinder’s dubbed out vocals, as a reverb-drenched guitar replays the melody line of the original. The unexpected addition of a delicious new hook takes the track to blissed-out territory. This is a Neapolitan poolside classic with a Punjabi twist.

The single has already been blessed by the likes of Damian Lazarus, François K, Heidi Lawden, Perel, Solomun, Richard Sen, Ruf Dug, Vladimir Ivkovic, and more!

‘Mainu Apne Pyar Wich’ is out on all digital platforms. 🔗
☆ Disco Reggae Volume 6 ☆

When Pascal Rioux aka Charles Maurice asked me if I wanted to come on board for "Disco Reggae Volume 6", I accepted with genuine enthusiasm - it was a sign that he had appreciated my latest releases. All of the compilations in the STIX catalog revolve around the idea of reworking well-known soul and disco tracks in a reggae/dub key, and among the ones I was offered, I chose "The Memory" by the legend Roy Ayers (who was still with us at the time).

Since it wouldn’t have made sense for me to go for an overly sophisticated or lofty reinterpretation, I decided to try a raw version, changing little or nothing in the original arrangement. I used just one analog synth with a strong but simple character (the Siel Cruise), a drum machine, the trusted and brilliant Alessio Pignorio on guitars, and Roxana on vocals, with whom I had already collaborated on a few tracks for my LP. Mixing was done, as usual, with R. Arcella a.k.a. “Whodamanny,” and the release was, of course, distributed by The Pusher.

Sunset Breaker Megamix • A mutant-disco story made in Camaldoli, Napoli. 🌊✨️

After a two-year-long stint of "development hell" and several attempts to settle for a result I wasn’t truly satisfied with, I finally managed to reach a point where I felt ready to release it. The work unfolded in three separate phases and across different workspaces.

The support of my indispensable studio partner was once again crucial in this adventure, both technically and creatively—indulging practically every destructive or constructive idea I had.

Also important was the contribution of in writing (and singing) some of the lyrics, and of, especially during the embryonic stages of development, where,, and also took part.

A special thanks goes to the brave, who manages to translate my voice-memo non-notes into effective guitar riffs, to for the percussion, to for his talent both as a singer and saxophonist, to the incredible voice of Roxana, to for his bass lines, and to from Nu Genea for his invaluable advice—and the SP-12. Thanks as well to and for their support. Much love to & Eva.

Mystic Jungle's Sunset Breaker album will be released on May 12th in both physical and digital formats • Pre-order active via Bandcamp • Wholesale distribution by The Pusher

It has been less than a year since the dreamy 'Words of Love' single, yet Mystic Jungle is back with a new album of free-spirited forays into solar-sonic fantasy. Despite the short time between releases, however, Dario di Pace’s third LP, 'Sunset Breaker', has been in gestation for a long while and reflects an arduous journey through studio closures and multiple recording locations. It also shows the stylistic variety that results when a set of songs develops over several years. Despite this difficult journey, Mystic Jungle has produced a rich and multi-colored display of sounds and styles, resulting in his most diverse and adventurous musical narrative thus far. Standout dance tracks like “Secrets” and “Some Lovin'” feature disco beats and body-moving grooves, with searing guitars, sultry saxophones, and layers of loved-up lyrics and call-and-response vocals that add to the magical motion. Meanwhile, “Innervision” and “Twilight” draw inspiration from lovers rock and neon new-wave dub pop, where yearning vocals, ecstatic pixie hooks, and liquid fuzz leads intertwine with fantasy synths and exotic string instruments from faraway lands. On sunbaked, stoner tracks like “The Road” and “Get Me Higher,” Mystic Jungle blends harmonizing passages of 60s psychedelia, radiant summer soul, and low-down zoner jamming.
