A few of my favorite corners at home lately ✨

From the guest room where my Alankrit and I installed grasscloth wallpaper, to my office where I (with his extra hands + moral support!) built the bookshelves from scratch, to the dining room that’s finally starting to feel like “us” — every space has a little DIY heart in it, and a sprinkle of vintage finds.

It’s wild what a vision, some elbow grease, and about 47 trips to the hardware store can do. 😂

Let me know which room you’re loving most!
We’ve been using the Select Blackout Cellulars by s‍electblinds with the SelectBlinds App, and it’s honestly changed how we wind down at night. One tap on the remote (or the app) and the blinds close smoothly, the room goes dark, and the cozy vibes are instantly set—no getting up, no fiddling with cords.
I love how easy it is to control our windows, schedule routines, and create the perfect lighting for moments like this. Quiet, seamless, and such a simple upgrade that makes our home feel smarter and more comfortable.

If you’re into effortless light control and elevated everyday moments, this is it.

72 hours in New York City - here’s everything that caught my eye!

1. Paso del Quindío I - installation of 17 CRT monitors at
2. A beautiful brass Ganesha statue at the Grand Bazaar
3. The hotel’s elevator lobby
4. A vintage mirror straight out of a dream
5. ‘Repose’ by Pablo Picasso, first time seeing his work in person
6. A model of an art museum buried under sand dunes in China
7. An installation crafted from thrifted stuffed toys—unexpected and brilliant
8. The birthday girl on her birthday dinner
9. The kind of food at that makes you rethink everything you thought you knew about food
10. Selfie before birthday dinner—because dressing up is a rare event here
11. Alankrit carrying a giant box with the vintage pot I got at the flea market through the streets. Forever grateful to this human who not only brought me to New York for my birthday and treated me to all the incredible food, but also made sure to take me to every flea market while we were there.
12. A quote at the MoMA Design Store that made me laugh and made too much sense
13. A baroque-style restaurant at our hotel with decadent ceilings
Looking back, painting a room black was a big design gamble, but it's paid off. Two years on, I'm still enjoying the result. Have you taken a similar risk in your own home?
Same view but one month apart. The Japanese portrait I got from an antique store in Osaka has joined the gallery wall, and I've switched up some shelf decor. And can you believe that top shelf item in both photos cost me less than $10? Facebook Marketplace and thrift stores for the win! I know, I know, I'm a bit too smug about my cheap finds... 😁
Wait until you see the lamp in the chair corner - my best antique store find of all times. It was manufactured in the 1940s by a company called M G. Wheeler. It’s not just mid century style it’s actually from the mid century 😍

I know I say this after every room makeover but this seriously is one of my best works so far, I’m really happy with how this turned out. I was going for a moody collected vibe for this bedroom and I think I got it just right.

This was my first time working with wallpaper and I must say I’m in love! This grasscloth wallpaper adds that luxurious warmth with its natural woven texture, and the rich brown shades in it give that moody vibe. Installing the wallpaper was definitely not easy but it was so worth it.

No room in our house is complete without a few pieces from India and I think this room got the most beautiful ones and blends perfectly with the rest of decor. The bedcover is a Jamawar wool bedcover I got from Udaipur on our recent trip to Rajasthan. The paintings over the chair and dresser are Kalamkari vintage paintings from Jaipur (will post a closer look in next reel) and the white marble bowl is also from Rajasthan, India.

It goes without saying but now this room is my favorite in the house and I’m seriously thinking about making this our bedroom;)

Wait for it..

I figured this room deserved another before and after reel after finishing the gallery wall. Although, I believe this room could use a central piece of furniture—a small coffee table, ottoman, or side table. I can’t decide whether to buy one or take on a DIY project. I’ve been scouring Facebook Marketplace daily, hoping to find something to upcycle, but no luck so far. Nevertheless, we’re thrilled with the transformation of this space.

Opting for a couch was a good decision as it allows us to seamlessly switch between the desk and the couch while working. It provides a more relaxed seating option for laptop use and allows for mini conversations without someone having to stand while the other sits in the office chair.

Finally, my long-held dream of a moody, dark office has become a reality. I never imagined I could build bookshelves like these on my own, but I guess nothing is impossible if you take it step by step, invest your time, and not give up. Huge shoutout to my husband for making dinners and keeping me fed while I worked late nights on the build 😀

And thanks to all of you for being patient while I disappeared working on this project, traveling for 3 months and being busy at work - you guys are the best!
My most viral reel with 17 million views was a 3 seconds long reel but in reality there were 8 weeks between the first and second shot, with a good amount of work behind it and a lot of ups and downs. This is just to serve as a reminder that don't let these mini reels and time lapses fool you - there's just an average girl behind it learning to DIY as she goes while making a fair share of mistakes. All this to create a home we love, while taking you guys on the journey 🤍

As I said there were many hiccups along the way but we took our sweet time and managed to get it done
before the ORC reveal.

I've received so many DMs since then with pictures of how some of you have re-created this accent wall and I can't express well enough in words how happy that makes me 🤍🥺

.
I've saved all the steps (longer than the 15 seconds version here @) in my story highlights "Wall paneling" in case you want to know more.
