DISCLAIMER βΌοΈmy hands were high to reduce the risk of him dropping his shoulder on me again! They werenβt like this the whole ride.) βΌοΈ well todayβs ride was, interesting. I took Henry in the school today for some Flatwork exercise, heβs had a little bit of time off over Christmas due to personal reasons so I did a short session, my aim was to get him sweated up, lots of trot work & some light canter work. Well, I got humbled.

Henry decided that the sun was shining and it was all abit too much for his little pea brain, he warmed up really nicely, lovely trot work and actually I wasnβt going to film the ride π¬.. then as soon as i introduced canter he decided to have a good old bronc, lots of interesting moves that I have 0 clue how I sat, honestly no clue how I sat all of it π so at that point my aim was to simply βtire him outβ get the spice out of him, usually I find really good trot work does this, so I trotted him a lot, then I asked for a 10 second canter, few more broncs, brought him back to trot & asked for canter again and after 10 mins I felt him tiring under me and giving up! π have to admit I am proud of myself, few years ago Iβd of got off & panicked, but I calmly sat back accepted my fate ππ and pushed him forward. It was only after the 3/4th bronc I asked my mom to film but (of course) was golden thenπ so enjoy the clips of him being golden π

itβs very rare I talk about my mental health as to me I donβt see it as a obstacle that stops me from doing things, I will often use it to my advantage by saying βI can did this despite my difficultiesβ. And I think that shows in my content really as I never ever wanted to make this account about my mental health because believe it or not i actually never wanted pity followers (LOL) I want people to follow me knowing I have this but I can do things. But for those who donβt know, I do indeed have Bipolar Disorder type 1.

I will never go into details about my mental health ie why, when, where etc as everything thatβs happened in my life will always be raw and I think Iβm entitled to that slice of privacy, but that being said Iβve been round the block with services, hospitals and I do want to make this world or even the equestrian side of the world a better place, will it work? Probably not. Will I feel better for trying? Yes. So bear with me but I do want to incorporate how my mental health struggles can be the saviour for othersβ¦ I feel the world needs change and I will do my part. Henry healed my soul in ways I canβt begin to tell you all, this horse is really something special, heβs not just βthereβ but itβs his actions, his nudges.. heβs very special to me. π so letβs try and make this world a better place.

I am totally dreaming of summer now, and also dreading the fact weβve been promised HEAVY rain tomorrow and for a few days πβ¦ I took Henry for a short walk down the fields today and thought they were a tad soggy, now theyβre going to be worse π I am over winter, admittedly I love the rain, we need it. But on the over hand, I would like to hack more on grass & get those canters in π canβt have the best of both worlds.

In other news, henry has had a busy day of appointments! π first thing he had his new shoes done, so a visit from the farrier was just what Henry loves! Followed by having Henryβs saddle checked, he was a little tight behind after our last appointment with my physio so we booked him in & he is now all sorted! π π» thank you for top saddle checks! π₯° our trailer is also having a service so we can get back on the road with Henry! So itβs pretty much all things go at the moment! π

Social media was created for the good but along the way many have abused it, like many things I mentioned in my reel such as performance shame, cancel culture, being unkindβ¦ honestly this didnβt happen years ago, it really didnβt. So where did we go so wrong?

One thing that bugs me is I never had performance shame until social media because Iβve never really been that interested in competing, I like doing it for fun and thatβs it. But as an influencer, I find it odd how some brands/brand ambassador opportunities are simply for those who compete, this is where some of the divide is I personally think, because before we had social media - there was no such thing as all of what we have now brand ambassadors etcβ¦ i do think itβs a shame for those who simply just want to enjoy their horse.

Iβm also huge on the people being unkind, Iβm very lucky I donβt get a lot of it, however when I do, I do have to laugh and think would they honestly come up to me at a show and say it to my face? Probably not. Social media gave us this false sense of security that we can write an unkind comment on someoneβs post, then scroll onto the next like nothing happenedβ¦ yet that person on the other end is probably very very upset & now dealing with the the effects your words gave. Maybe just one to think about π€·πΌββοΈ..

Itβs funny really as my horse in all the 8 years has never spoken a physical word to me, yet because I listen to him, I know he speaks a thousand words to me. The best wisdom, knowledge, everything Iβve learnt in 8 years of owning him; comes from him and him alone. Iβve always said henry is a horse who has quite clearly been here before, I am very spiritual like that & I honestly believe he has been here before, and I hope he knows I will choose him in every lifetime.

You really cannot get more authentic than this, usually when I go to Henry I call him and he reacts like this but today, heβd simply seen me come round the corner and you can almost hear him saying βMAMMYβ ππ₯Ή I am so beyond lucky to have the bond I have with henry, the years of trust Iβve put into him, he pours and pours it back into my soul when I need it, and boy does this horse know when I need it.
