this year has required so much faith, so much crazy obedience. most of my teenage and adult life I pursued music then suddenly everything I knew felt so alien. years of living in a city, feeling isolated, no real community, misunderstood I never thought God would send me on a mission as such. something that simply was a side hustle among jobs, mum life and a competitive music industry soon turned into my everything. I didn’t understand this calling at first and many may look and see things as being amazing but throughout there was always an internal conflict and question of is this for me… this year I focused on being a child of God & a mum, not Mya the artist, which led me to creating home in a place that never felt like home. I could take all the props but this really is Gods work, how ironic that he sent me on a mission to build community in the very place I’ve been disconnected from all my life. now it all makes sense, what a beautiful space with beautiful people and I’m truly grateful for you all. this year has not been easy but you all make it worth it. I guess this is a message that sometimes God takes you away from what you thought you would do in a season (whether that temporarily or permanently) to teach you that, that isn’t everything, the very thing I was making an idol in my life now I have complete surrender too and I know he will use my gifts musically in other ways just not in this season and not for self, so when that time comes my heart will be in the right place. But right now I’m surrendered to the moment, God made it my mission to serve the community of Leeds and surrounding areas and love this lil thing we have going on. Let’s see what 2026 holds! Her journey to this point has been far from easy. After years of balancing multiple jobs, raising her child, and pursuing music, she found herself in one of the darkest mental states she had ever experienced. Fitness became the lifeline that helped her through those struggles, and faith gave her the strength to keep moving forward.
Last year, after attending a fitness class down south, Mya was inspired to create something similar in her own city. She envisioned a space where women could feel safe, supported, and encouraged to better themselves, not just physically but mentally and spiritually too.
With obedience to her calling, she left her jobs, put music on pause, and threw her heart and soul into building this vision. In just three months, that seed has grown into reality.
The new hub offers female-only and mixed classes such as step and HIIT, alongside creative opportunities in music, podcasts, dance, and songwriting. It’s a space designed for growth, healing, and expression.
Mya says this project is not just hers, but God’s mission through her, and she thanks everyone who has supported, encouraged, and believed in her journey so far.
