バン字池ではあじさいも綺麗にご覧いただけますが、天然記念物のモリアオガエル達が産卵中でございます。
このカエルは水の中ではなく、木の枝で産卵をする変わったカエルなのですが、今朝、貴重な産卵シーンを撮影できました。
まるでラグビーのスクラムのように雄たちが雌を取り囲み、産卵の手助けをしております。
ご参拝の際はバン字の周りの木の枝あたりに白い泡状のものがぶら下がっておりますので是非ご覧くださいね。
タイミングが良ければ産卵中をご覧いただけるかもしれません。

桜井市の#長谷寺、飛鳥の#岡寺、高取町の#壺阪寺、宇陀市の#室生寺 の四ヶ寺で同時開催いたします。
他の三ヶ寺も準備が進んでいるようです。
当山でも写真のとおり、着々と準備が進んできております。
今年は土壌よって色が変化する。つまりは自然の力で色が変わるあじさいの性質からヒントを得まして、青色の青龍、赤色の紅龍をイメージしております。6日までには完成いたします。
また、仁王門の先にあるバン字池の周りにもあじさいを並べます。

現在、五重塔および金堂は厳しい自然環境ゆえに屋根の傷みは避けられず、檜皮葺や杮葺の耐久年数が過ぎ、劣化が顕著になっています。
応急処置で凌いでおりましたが、この度、修復事業に着手することを決断いたしました。
国、県からの補助はあるものの、負担額は約1億円にのぼり、大きな負担となることからクラウドファンディングに挑戦する運びとなりました。
この挑戦では、目標に届かなければいただいたご支援は全て返金になってしまう「All or Nothing」というルールです。
