For the first May Bank Holiday, we packed up the chaos and headed to California Cliffs in Norfolk with some of our absolute favorites.

Honestly, there is nothing quite like a British seaside weekend to reset the soul (even if the wind has other ideas!). Our days were a beautiful blur of:
🌞Swimming pool madness
🌞Park life
🌞Good food & great company

It was the perfect mix of chaotic family time, belly laughs, and fresh sea air. Norfolk, you were a dream.

Surviving or thriving? Definitely a bit of both this weekend!

I traded the usual chaotic weekend routine of school run prep and stepping on Lego for a different kind of chaos near Bath to celebrate my gorgeous Sister-in-Law’s hen party!

It was a solid 48 hours of good food, lots of laughs, good company, and let’s be honest... a lot of drinks. (Followed by more drinks).

It felt so strange but so wonderful to let my hair down, have uninterrupted adult conversations, and celebrate the beautiful bride-to-be. Back to reality now with a slightly foggy brain, and a mountain of laundry to tackle. Worth it!

Is there anything more "weekend staple" than a trip to feed the ducks? We ended up lakeside two days in a row last weekend, and honestly, the vibes couldn’t have been more different!

Saturday was all about that slow-paced mama time. I took the younger two to meet up with a friend—we grabbed coffees, soaked up the surprise sunshine, and had the loveliest stroll. It was one of those rare, peaceful mornings where the kids were content and the conversation actually flowed.

Sunday was a full-family affair! The temperature definitely took a dip (hello, extra layers!), but the excitement levels were through the roof. Even with a bit of a chill in the air, watching all the kids together—wild, loud, and obsessed with every single mallard—was the best way to wrap up the week.

Sun’s out, PTA hat on!

Happy Friday! It’s officially a non-working day for me, but let’s be honest—does a "day off" actually exist in motherhood?

The sun is shining and my morning has been a total whirlwind! It’s May Day at the girls' village school, and I’ve been fueled by caffeine and community spirit.

So, what actually is May Day?

If you aren't familiar with it, it’s an ancient tradition to celebrate the start of summer! It’s all about nature’s rebirth, floral crowns, and village togetherness. Think of it as the ultimate "Welcome, Spring!" party that keeps our local history alive for the children.

I might be a bit exhausted, but seeing the village come together like this makes all the "muddling through" totally worth it.
Happy Friday!

Saturday morning done right!

The middle child was invited to a birthday party at Jump yesterday, and I was bracing myself for the "juggling act" of bringing the youngest along. A massive thank you to the hosts and the venue for being so kind and letting the littlest one join the fun too!

Cake, friends, and endless bouncing was the perfect recipe for a successful morning. They burned off so much energy that I actually got a quiet car ride home. That’s a win in my book!

Is there anything better than a Sunday brunch that actually involves hot coffee and happy kids? (Asking for a friend, but we all know the answer!)

We met up with some friends at The Flight Deck last Sunday and it was the perfect start to the day. There’s something so nostalgic about watching the planes take off while tucking into a proper breakfast.

The Sunday Rundown:

Brunch Bliss: Whether you’re team "Full English" or team "Pancakes," the food hit the spot.

Entertainment Sorted: The kids spent half the time with their noses pressed to the glass watching the airfield, which meant the grown-ups actually got to finish a sentence. Win-win!

Best Company: Catching up with friends over good food is the best way to recharge the batteries before the Monday madness kicks in.

We absolutely love it here—it’s become one of our go-to spots for a reason. Great food, gorgeous views, and zero stress.

Friday morning was just lush.

I met up with friends for brunch—a grand total of 3 adults and 8 children. As you can imagine, it was noisy, chaotic, and beautifully messy. There were sticky fingers, constant chatter, and probably more food on the floor than in mouths, but honestly? It was perfect.

It was so lovely to finally catch up while the kids ran wild together. There is something so grounding about being around friends who just "get it"—where you don't have to apologise for the volume or the crumbs. It really was the best kind of mayhem and the perfect way to wrap up the Easter holidays.

My heart is full (even if my ears are still ringing!).

And just like that… we survived another school holiday!

Let’s be honest, it’s an absolute juggle. For those of us who don’t work term times, the math just never adds up. My annual leave doesn’t even touch the 13 weeks the kids get off. How are we actually meant to do this?!

We managed to get away this time, so I only had to shell out for 2 days of holiday club. But even then, £80 for 2 kids for 2 days (9am–3pm)? My bank account is weeping.

The plan is to try the same "tactical leave" for the May half-term, and then… the Summer. I’m not even ready to think about those 6 weeks yet. I could take unpaid parental leave, but losing a week's pay is a tough pill to swallow right now.

For now, I’m just leaning into the fact that it’s Friday. The uniforms are (hopefully) washed, and the routine returns Monday.

Happy Friday, mamas! How did you survive the week?

Better late than never—Happy belated Easter!

We are just heading home after the most incredible week in Lanzarote. It was exactly what the soul needed: endless sun, salty sea air, and quality family time.

Being all-inclusive was a total game-changer—not having to think about cooking or "what’s for dinner" for a whole week felt like a true holiday for me too! The hotel was lovely, and finding a family room that actually fits all five of us comfortably is a rare win, but this one was perfect.

The highlights?
🌞Catching up with friends out there (so lush!).
🌞Watching the girls make their own little holiday friendships.
🌞The absolute peak: Squeezing in 1.5 hours of spa time together. Pure heaven.

Feeling very refreshed and very grateful. Back to reality we go!

🔟 Years of Us (and a whole lot of chaos!)

Friday marked our 10th Wedding Anniversary. So, naturally, we jetted off for a romantic, candlelit weekend... at Paultons Park with all three kids in tow!

Life with three is busy, it’s noisy, and it’s usually 100mph, so celebrating "us" surrounded by rollercoasters and Peppa Pigs family felt strangely appropriate. While we are hoping to sneak away for a "just the two of us" celebration later this year, this weekend was actually pretty perfect.

Why we love Paultons:
The weather was on our side, the hotel was a total win, and Paultons remains one of our absolute favorites for a reason. If you’re thinking of heading there, here’s the lowdown:
🎉Beyond the Pig: Everyone flocks to Peppa Pig World (which is adorable), but the rest of the park is a hidden gem.
🎉Zero Wait Times: Outside of the Peppa zone, we never waited more than 10 minutes for a ride. The Lost Kingdom (dinosaurs!) and Tornado Springs are world-class but so much quieter.
🎉Something for Everyone: From the gentle carousels to the thrill of Storm Chaser, all three kids were actually happy at the same time. A literal anniversary miracle.
🎉The Vibe: It’s spotless, the gardens are stunning, and it just feels easier than other big theme parks.

Ten years, three kids, and one very loud, very fun weekend later—I wouldn’t change a thing. 🥂 (Though I am looking forward to a meal that doesn’t involve chicken nuggets later this year!)
Has anyone else done a "family-moon" for their anniversary? Tell me I’m not the only one! 👇
