We are still smiling from our snowmobiling adventure in Lake Tahoe 🚀❄️ One of the highlights of our winter break was getting the whole family out on the snow — and doing it with made it unforgettable 🛷✨
They use the Lake Tahoe Golf Course during the winter, turning it into a wide-open, snow-covered playground that’s perfect for families 🏔️🌨️ Smooth trails, beautiful mountain views, and a setup that lets kids ride with you makes this such a special experience 👨👩👧👦💙 Most snowmobiles are designed for two riders, so younger kids can safely join the fun, and trust me… they had an absolute blast 😄❄️
From easy booking to friendly staff and a super convenient location near South Lake Tahoe, this is one of those winter activities that delivers on both excitement and memories 🧤🔥 If you’re visiting Tahoe in winter and want something your kids will talk about long after the snow melts — this is it 🏔️✨
🛷❄️ For families wondering: kids can ride along as passengers once they meet the age which is typically 5 years old and safety requirements, making this a perfect first snow experience for little adventurers 🧒🧤🧣
If you’re visiting Lake Tahoe in winter, snowmobiling is an absolute must 🏔️🔥 It’s fast, scenic, thrilling, and somehow still peaceful all at once — the kind of experience that makes everyone hop off saying, “Can we do that again?” 😄❄️

Snow-dusted pines 🌲❄️, crisp mountain air 🧣✨, and that quiet moment when the lake turns into a glassy mirror reflecting soft winter light 🌅💎—it’s pure magic. There’s something about Tahoe in winter that instantly slows everything down in the best way possible 🤍. Whether you’re standing still soaking it all in 🧘♀️, heading out for snowy adventures 🎿🛷, or catching a peaceful sunset over the water 🌄, this place just grounds you.
Cold air ❄️, warm layers 🧤🧥, and views that don’t feel real 😍. Winter here isn’t only about skiing or snowboarding—it’s about the calm in between, the glowing skies 🌤️, and those quiet moments that remind you how powerful nature can be when it’s at its most peaceful ✨🌊.
Have you seen Lake Tahoe in winter yet, or is it still on your bucket list? 👀❄️ Happy wintery Monday folks!

We wrapped up the holiday break soaking up some proper winter fun in Reno and Lake Tahoe❄️🏔️ — from snowy mountain days and skiing (no après needed 😉) to exploring the Reno scene and discovering some unexpected family-friendly gems.
The kids loved the bright lights and energy of Circus Circus, we stumbled upon unique spots around both Reno and Tahoe areas, enjoyed a classic buffet 🍽️, and caught a fun holiday theatrical show that added a little extra magic to the trip 🎭✨ and had plenty of fun in the snow! It was nice stepping away from social media for a bit 📵 — being fully present, unplugged, and soaking in the moments together made this trip feel even more meaningful.
Even better, this getaway marked a small but satisfying win for us — we managed to check off two of our credit card miles goals before the end of 2025, making this trip an even sweeter way to close out the year ✈️💳.
Starting 2026 this way just felt right 🌍 — intentional travel, smart planning, and quality time together. Here’s to a year full of adventures, new destinations, and memories that make you pause and smile. Cheers to the road (and skies) ahead 🥂✨

We found Christmas and holiday vibes in a lot of places this year… but the most surprising might have been Tennessee ❤️🎶. The Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg area truly comes alive during the holidays — and once you’re there, you instantly understand why so many families make this a yearly tradition.
From the moment you arrive, it feels like stepping straight into a Christmas movie 🎬❄️. Streets glowing with lights, decorations everywhere you look, and nearly every shop and restaurant fully dressed for the season 🎄✨ There’s music, laughter, and that cozy holiday energy around every corner.
One of our absolute highlights was a Dolly Parton Christmas show 🎤🤍. The Dolly Stampede Christmas Dinner was a huge hit with the kids and honestly just pure fun for all of us — horses, music, holiday storytelling, and a great meal all rolled into one 🐎🎅.
Anaeesta and Gatlinburg SkyPark were fully decked out for Christmas and completely stole our hearts ✨🎄. From posing by beautifully decorated fireplaces and Christmas trees to walking through glowing lights high above town, it felt magical day and night. One of the sweetest moments was watching the kids write last-minute letters to Santa and mail them right from our hotel 💌🎅 — those little moments are what this season is all about.
Have you ever visited Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge during the holidays? 🎄 Or is it on your Christmas travel wish list?

The Texas Renaissance Festival is an annual staple for our family, and with this year marking its 50th anniversary, there was absolutely no way we were missing it. From the moment you enter, it feels like you’ve been transported into a magical, historical world where every corner is alive with energy, music, laughter, and larger-than-life characters. 🎭🛡️
Even just wandering the grounds is enough to make your day, but then you add in everything else — archery ranges 🏹, epic jousting tournaments ⚔️, elephant rides 🐘, knights on horseback, fire shows 🔥, comedy acts, live music, and performances happening everywhere you turn. The food alone deserves its own visit 🍗🍺 giant turkey legs, meat pies, pub feasts, sweets, and themed restaurants that make it feel like a medieval feast all day long.
Our kids count down to this festival every year. They love the costumes, the interactive shows, the rides, the shops, and the feeling that they’re part of the story, not just watching it. It’s one of those experiences that never gets old, no matter how many times you go — and year after year, it somehow keeps getting better...👑 and yes they refused to wear shades that day hence the facial expressions 🤣
If you’ve been before, you already know. And if you haven’t… this is your sign. Would you dress up, or just soak it all in your first time? 🏰⚔️

Have you ever walked through one so green it feels like the world just reset itself?
When you can hike through a true Pacific Northwest rainforest like Carbon River 🌲💚 you stop rushing and just breathe. There’s something different about this place — moss-draped giants 🌿, wooden footbridges that feel straight out of a fairytale 🌧️✨, mist drifting between evergreens, and rivers that have been carving their stories for centuries.
The kids were in absolute heaven 🤗— jumping over puddles, claiming giant mossy trees as “forts,” and exploring every hidden corner like little adventurers. And the greens… wow. That deep, glowing, almost neon PNW green you only get after rain 🌦️. Visiting right after a fresh rainfall made everything feel even more iconic — the air smelled alive, the ground steamed slightly, and every fern looked like it was shining.
Hiking through the mountains and woods is one of the true staples of visiting the Pacific Northwest 🏔️🌲. It’s impossible not to fall in love with it.
Swipe ➡️ through the carousel to see why this trail captured us: rainforest trails wrapped in moss, towering ancient trees, and some of our favorite family moments tucked between the raindrops 💚✨.

Over the years we’ve been lucky enough to experience the parade in some pretty unforgettable ways — including the time we were randomly invited into a private viewing party above the crowds 🙈🎉 Warm drinks, excited kiddos, and some of the best parade views you can imagine. I shared that whole story on the blog if you want the behind-the-scenes details.
And if you’ve never been to the Balloon Inflation the day before the parade… it’s a must 🎈✨ Getting to walk right next to those massive characters as they “wake up” for their big day, seeing the crews at work, and watching the kids’ faces light up at every turn — it’s like stepping behind the curtain of Thanksgiving magic. That experience has its own blog post too because it deserves one.
This carousel pulls together some of our favorite moments: different floats rolling past us on parade day, plus a couple of up-close shots from the Balloon Inflation.
Even though our Thanksgiving looked a little different this year with a family trip to Tennessee 🍂🏔️, we still gathered around the TV and watched the floats roll through Manhattan like we always do. That mix of tradition, nostalgia, and family memories is exactly why this parade means so much to us.
If NYC during Thanksgiving is on your list — or if you’ve ever wondered whether it’s worth bringing kids — our answer is absolutely yes 🙌 And if you want to dive deeper into both of our experiences (parade day and Balloon Inflation), you can find both full write-ups over on the blog.
Have you ever been to the parade or inflation in person, or is it still on your travel wish list?

Right in the heart of Barcelona’s Barri Gòtic — one of the oldest and most atmospheric neighborhoods in the city — we found ourselves in front of the breathtaking Cathedral of Barcelona 🏰✨.
This whole area feels like stepping into another century… narrow stone streets, hidden plazas, towering Gothic spires, and history everywhere you look ⏳✨
And what makes it even more magical? The music. You can almost always hear something echoing through the alleyways — guitarists 🎸, violinists 🎻, even opera singers hitting notes that bounce beautifully off the cathedral walls 🎶🎤. During our visit, we got both — a street guitarist and a woman singing opera right in the plaza. Pure goosebumps.
Even the kids were into it (which, let’s be honest, isn’t always easy to pull off in a city of cathedrals 😅). They loved the gargoyles 🐉, pigeons 🕊️, performers, and the maze of streets around the cathedral. Barcelona is one of those cities where exploring is half the fun — and the Gothic Quarter is the perfect starting point 💛❤️
After soaking in the music and architecture, we wandered out for gelato 🍦 and kept exploring those medieval streets lined with cafes, shops, and surprises around every corner.
If you’ve visited Barcelona, did you explore the Gothic Quarter? And which part of the city felt the most magical to you? 👇🇪🇸

Having put this Reel together I've realized I haven't shared even half of our adventures or posted enough about our travel spending💲 strategy at all but you can now read about it on our blog at.
It's mind-blowing that we managed to visit all of this in one year (especially considering that for the first half of the year we were still dealing with Covid restrictions) and all of it for basically under 💸$3k and while our travel has grown with each year since while we haven't repeated exactly the same low level of spending we've come close enough each year after.
This year was another reminder of how incredible a gift and blessing family travel truly is.
Here are most of the destinations🌍 we visited last for that $3K. I promise to do my best sharing more content and helpfull details on these family travel termini going forward and how we do our best to keep our travel budget down while we hope our kiddos and we 👨👩👦👦get to see and experience even more this year in the same travel hacking fashion.
