I arrived expecting a quiet stopover between Prague and Vienna, and instead I found a city that completely stole my heart. Slovakiaâs capital is compact, walkable, and filled with centuries of history hidden behind every pastel facade in the Old Town.
My home base was the, a legendary property on Hviezdoslavovo nĂĄmestie whose roots trace back to the 13th century. The current Art Nouveau facade was designed by renowned Slovak architect Milan Michal Harminc and unveiled in 1912, and the guest book reads like a history textbook: Edison, Nobel, Einstein, Roosevelt.
My Junior Suite had everything generous space, heated bathroom floors, and the kind of window view that makes you pause: Bratislava Castle and St. Martinâs Cathedral framed perfectly against the skyline. I could have stayed there all morning.
But Bratislava pulls you outside. I walked through MichalskĂĄ brĂĄna, the cityâs only surviving medieval gate, wandered the bustling streets toward HlavnĂ© nĂĄmestie with its Old Town Hall tower, smiled at Äumil peeking from the pavement, and stood in awe inside St. Martinâs Cathedral, a Gothic masterpiece where Hungarian kings were once crowned. The Blue Church, with its dreamlike Art Nouveau exterior and pastel interior, is quite possibly the most photogenic building I have ever entered. The Presidential Palace and the Slovak National Theatre completed the picture of a city that punches well above its weight.
And then came the evening. The Mirror Bar inside the Carlton is ranked No. 25 on The Worldâs 50 Best Bars 2025, the first Slovak bar to ever make the list. I had their juicy salmon, the signature Carlton chocolate cake, and the No Rush cocktail surrounded by emerald velvet, signed mirrors and pure magic.
Bratislava is not just a city. It is Central Europeâs best-kept secret.

First thing you notice walking in thereâs a real taxidermy horse in the lobby. Sounds crazy, but it actually works. Itâs made by Deyrolle in Paris, and itâs a tribute to the old days when the Ringstrasse was all about horses and high society. Sets the tone immediately.
I had the Grande Suite, big blue room with a freestanding bathtub right next to the bed, wooden floors, this beautiful old-style headboard. Felt like sleeping inside a Wes Anderson movie. And waiting for me? A bottle of Austrian red wine, chocolate-covered berries, and a handwritten welcome note. The plate said âKĂŒss die Handâ in chocolate, classic Viennese charm.
Now let me talk about the food because it was great. Breakfast happens on the 8th floor with rooftop views over all of Vienna. I had Eggs Benedict with salmon that Iâm still thinking about. And a raspberry mille-feuille that honestly didnât need to go that hard but it did.
In the evenings, the same floor turns into LimĂłn, a Mediterranean restaurant where I had an incredible beef tartare and one of the best steaks of my trip. Downstairs thereâs Meissl & Schadn, a MICHELIN-selected restaurant famous for Wiener Schnitzel made right in front of you. Three restaurants, one hotel. Hard to leave!
Speaking of the location is almost unfair. Vienna State Opera is a 5-minute walk. St. Stephenâs Cathedral, 10 minutes. Musikverein, Albertina, Stadtpark everything is right there. Itâs the only Austrian-owned hotel on the Ringstrasse, and you can tell they take that seriously.
Would I come back? Already planning it. If Vienna is on your bucket list, make Grand Ferdinand your home base. You wonât want to leave. Trust me, I barely did.

Iâve been to a lot of cities across this continent, but few carry themselves with this kind of quiet sophistication. Every corner of the Innere Stadt feels like walking through a living museum, except the coffee is better and the Wiener Schnitzel is real.
I started most mornings at the on Schubertring, right on the legendary RingstraĂe. My Grande Suite on the 7th floor had a freestanding bathtub, a champagne bar and a balcony view that stretched across the entire city skyline. But what truly got me was the rooftop pool, floating above Viennaâs rooftops with nothing but sky and church spires around you. Thatâs not a hotel amenity. Thatâs a core memory.
Upstairs at LimĂłn, the hotelâs Mediterranean rooftop restaurant on the 8th floor, I had one of the best beef tartares of this entire European tour. Southern French and Italian flavors, panoramic views across the city, and that golden hour light hitting the terrace the kind of dinner where you forget youâre still in Austria.
From there, everything is walkable. Stephansdom took my breath away, the Gothic exterior, the mosaic roof, the Baroque altars inside. Peterskirche tucked between buildings on Graben. The PestsÀule catching afternoon light. Hofburg in all its imperial weight at Michaelerplatz. The Neue Burg curving across Heldenplatz like a stone embrace.
Belvedere Palace in full spring bloom with tulips everywhere. Karlskirche reflected in its pool. The Staatsoper standing proud on Opernring. Maria-Theresien-Platz framed between two of the worldâs finest museums. And Kohlmarkt and Mariahilfer StraĂe or Graben for anyone who loves luxury shopping as much as I do.
My honest advice? Forget the itinerary. Just walk. The best moments I had here were the ones I didnât plan.
Dear Vienna, Iâll be back đŠđč

is built inside Pachtuv Palace, an 18th-century Baroque residence where Mozart actually composed music in 1787 and where Casanova was a regular guest. Thatâs not a fairytale, itâs the actual history of the building you sleep in. And somehow, you feel it.
I stayed in the Executive Suite with a Castle & River View, and let me tell you, waking up to Prague Castle and Charles Bridge right outside your window, in a four-poster canopy bed with deep burgundy walls and herringbone parquet floors... thatâs the kind of morning that makes you cancel your plans and just sit there with your coffee.
The dining here surprised me. Breakfast at the Mozart CafĂ©, gorgeous buffet plus an Ă la carte menu, I had the Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon that was genuinely excellent. For dinner, I tried MeatEater Steak & Wine: a salmon salad to start, beef striploin with hand-cut fries, and a chocolate lava cake with ice cream that Iâm still thinking about days later.
Itâs the small things that elevate a stay from good to unforgettable, premium sleep masks waiting on the nightstand, a full marble bathroom, a cheeky little card on the mirror saying âMirror, mirror on the wall... time for a cocktail callâ with a QR code to book your table. Two Baroque courtyards where you can have Champagne under open sky. A wooden room key you almost want to keep.
The location is unbeatable, one minute to Charles Bridge on foot, five to Old Town Square, the Estates Theatre where Don Giovanni premiered is around the corner. Prague Castle, Jewish Quarter, Wenceslas Square, everything walkable.
Prague has always been one of Europeâs most beautiful cities. The Mozart Prague is the kind of hotel that makes you understand why.

Twenty photos, and still not enough to capture what Prague really is.
They call it the City of a Hundred Spires, the real count is closer to five hundred. Every cobblestone street delivers something extraordinary: the Gothic towers of the Church of Our Lady before TĂœn rising above Old Town Square, the Astronomical Clock from 1410, the worldâs oldest still in operation performing its procession of apostles for over six centuries.
The painted Renaissance façade of the V.J. Rott house, the baroque splendor of St. Nicholas Church in MalĂĄ Strana, the striking red front of St. Georgeâs Basilica, and the towering majesty of St. Vitus Cathedral inside Prague Castle. And Charles Bridge at sunrise with the Castle reflected in the Vltava and thirty baroque statues standing guard in golden light is something no photograph fully captures.
My home in Prague was, a five-star hotel inside the 18th-century Pachtuv Palace, one minute on foot from Charles Bridge.
This is where Mozart himself stayed and composed his Six German Dances in 1787, where Casanova and Wagner walked the same halls. My Executive Suite with Castle View framed the Vltava, Charles Bridge, and Prague Castle in one single window, possibly the best morning view in Central Europe. Four-poster bed, herringbone parquet, deep burgundy walls. A suite that belongs to another century.
A few tips for first-time visitors: visit Old Town Square before 9 AM to avoid crowds. Walk MosteckĂĄ street into MalĂĄ Strana for the best church tower views. Climb to Prague Castle for the panorama, an ocean of terracotta rooftops and copper-green domes to the horizon. And touch the plaque of St. John of Nepomuk on Charles Bridge, legend says it guarantees your return.
Prague is not just a city. It is a living museum, an open-air gallery, and one of Europeâs most beautiful stories written in stone.
Dear Prague⊠See you soon. đšđż

Iâve explored luxury destinations across four continents, but thereâs something about this tiny principality that redefines what âexclusiveâ truly means. Itâs not just about the super yachts lining Port Hercule or the Formula 1 grandstands tracing the legendary street circuit, itâs about the layers of history, culture and craftsmanship packed into every single corner.
Start at Le Rocher, the ancient fortified heart where Monaco began. The Princeâs Palace dominates Place du Palais with seven centuries of Grimaldi heritage arrive before 11:55 AM to witness the daily Changing of the Guard by the Carabinieri, a tradition since 1817. Steps away, the Cathedral of Our Lady Immaculate reveals a breathtaking Romanesque-Byzantine interior and the resting place of Princess Grace, where fresh flowers still appear daily.
Wander through Monaco-Villeâs narrow streets pastel facades, the Passage de la MisĂ©ricorde, the Palais de Justice with its dramatic double staircase then stop at Place Saint-Nicolas for MonĂ©gasque specialties at Aux Deux Moines. From here, the views over Fontvieille and the Mediterranean are simply unreal.
Cross into Monte Carlo and the energy shifts: the Casinoâs Belle Ăpoque interior, gilded frescoes, stained glass ceilings is 19th-century opulence at its finest. The Hermitage, Louis Vuitton, Fred luxury retail elevated to art.
Travel tip: Monaco is entirely walkable. Take the Rampe Major up to Le Rocher, explore on foot and let the city surprise you at every turn.
This wasnât just a visit. This was an experience Iâll carry with me. Thank you Monte Carlo, see you soon!

I stayed in the Exclusive Room with Terrace, and from the moment I stepped onto that balcony with my morning espresso, I knew this was going to be special. The view stretches over the tree-lined boulevard, wrought-iron balconies of neighboring Haussmann-style buildings catching the golden Riviera light. The room itself is a study in refined minimalism with perfect white marble, warm parquet floors, soft ivory and cream tones, and an Italian marble walk-in shower that makes you want to take your time and relax.
But the real magic? The 550mÂČ spa designed by Biologique Recherche. Two swimming pools, including an indoor wellness pool with waterfalls that feels like stepping into another world plus a hammam, sauna, and treatment cabins. I lost track of time. Completely!
Lunch at Angelo, the hotelâs Italian restaurant, was outstanding. Truffle pizza with fior di latte mozzarella and cherry tomatoes, a perfectly seared Charolais beef tenderloin tagliata with Parmesan shavings and salad, and a tiramisu topped with fresh berries that Iâm still thinking about. Paired with an iconic Angelo cocktail on their beautiful wooden tables with hand-painted ceramic plates was pure Mediterranean indulgence.
The rooftop BClub with its heated pool and 360° panoramic views over Nice and the surrounding hills is the kind of spot where an afternoon disappears in the best possible way.
What I love about Boscolo is the Italian soul inside a French Riviera setting. Itâs a five-star that feels personal, not corporate. The branded slippers, the Bonne Notte macaron boxes, the Boscolo notepad where I jotted down my Nice plan to visit some places such as Promenade des Anglais, Castle Hill, Cours Saleya Market, Vieux Nice, the Cathedral, Avenue Jean MĂ©decin, Place MassĂ©na. All walkable from the hotel in under ten minutes.
Nice is not just a city. Itâs a French Mediterranean paradise. And Boscolo Nice is the perfect address to experience it from.

I checked into the, a magnificent 5-star Belle Ăpoque landmark on Boulevard Victor Hugo and stayed in their Exclusive Room with Terrace space of pure Italian-designed elegance with ivory tones, Italian marble walk-in shower, Nespresso station and a private balcony overlooking the boulevard. Morning coffee on that terrace with Nice waking up beneath you? Precious. The hotel also has a rooftop pool with panoramic views, a full spa with indoor heated pool, and three restaurants including Genesi, where breakfast is served until noon on a gorgeous outdoor terrace. The Boscolo family sources signature Italian products directly: truffle, olive oil, artisanal gelato. A true Italian soul on French soil.
Location is more than perfect, youâre just a 6-minute walk from Place MassĂ©na and 8 minutes from the Promenade des Anglais essentially, everything is at your doorstep.
I spent my days walking the legendary Promenade des Anglais along the palm-lined seafront, exploring the beating heart of the city at Place MassĂ©na with its black-and-white checkered pavement, the Fontaine du Soleil and those iconic golden Conversation sculptures. I wandered through Vieux Nice and the Cours Saleya flower market, stood in awe before the neo-Gothic façade of Basilique Notre-Dame, the largest church in Nice and strolled along the Quai des Ătats-Unis where history meets the Mediterranean. Port Lympia offered yachts, Castle Hill views and the best golden hour light, while Rue Paradis and Rue de la LibertĂ© delivered world-class shopping from Louis Vuitton to APM Monaco.
Nice is not just a city. Itâs a French Mediterranean paradise!

Love, beauty, dreamâŠ
But beyond everything Paris offers, happiness and freedom. This is the right address that really turns a visit into an unforgettable lifetime experience.
I stayed at, a five-star independent hotel built in 1928, tucked away on Avenue de Friedland in the 8th arrondissement, just steps from the Arc de Triomphe and less than a 3-minute walk from the Champs-ĂlysĂ©es. If youâre looking for one of the most iconic locations in the city, this is the right place for you.
My One Bedroom Suite with an amazing Avenue de Friedland view featured Empire-era dĂ©cor, a draped canopy bed in deep crimson tones and a view of the Eiffel Tower glowing gold at night. Itâs the kind of moment that gives Paris its unmistakable magic.
âIâm looking for love. Real love. Ridiculous, inconvenient, consuming, canât-live-without-each-other love. And I donât think that love is here, in this expensive suite in this lovely hotel in Paris.â
Maybe Carrie Bradshaw was right, maybe love isnât in the suite.âšBut in a hotel like this⊠it just might find you anyway.
The hotel itself tells a story: in 1928, a wealthy Russian entrepreneur built it as a gift of love for a young Parisian woman. That romantic DNA runs through every detail from the sweeping staircase lined with Napoleonic portraits to the striped corridor walls and monogrammed glassware waiting on your bedside.
From the front door, youâre within walking distance of Avenue Montaigne, Rue du Faubourg Saint-HonorĂ©, Grand Palais, Petit Palais, Parc Monceau, and the MusĂ©e Jacquemart-AndrĂ©. The Charles de Gaulle-Ătoile metro station is just two minutes away, connecting you easily to the entire city. Paris, fully unlocked.
Breakfast at Bar 1807 pancakes, fresh berries, and a cappuccino finished with the iconic âNâ. A small detail, but exactly what separates a good hotel from a great one.
If youâre planning a trip to Paris and want location, character, and genuine luxury without pretension, HĂŽtel NapolĂ©on belongs on your list.
