Their glow is a quiet rebellion, a silent act of resistance in landscapes where they are often forgotten or threatened. The fate of these insects echoes that of people living in hiding. Many migrants without secure residency status keep cities around the world running, while their stories disappear with every wave of urban development.
Through performance, video, and storytelling, Albert Garcia connects people and fireflies in his new piece.

Zum Abschluss des Labors geben die Künstler*innen Einblicke durch Work-in-Progress-Showings: Sie öffnen das Labor ihrer Arbeiten, die sich der Wirklichkeit bewusst annähern und sie zugleich herausfordern.

A Laboratory for Documentary Theater from Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam 🔬 🐞
For two weeks, seven artists from Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam will come together at the Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm to explore artistic forms of documentary theater. In the process, they will open their archives, offer insights into their research, and share personal stories.
At the end of the lab, the artists will offer insights through work-in-progress showings: They will open up the lab of their work, which consciously approaches reality while simultaneously challenging it.
