And then it hit me…
How lucky are we? To anyone who’s relocated 🍀
To love two places ♥️
To have people we love in two places ♥️
To have memories, routines and happiness attached to both ♥️
To still be able to go back and forth between them ✈️
Maybe I don’t need to “solve” anything.
Maybe life doesn’t need to look perfectly clear all the time 🌺
Maybe the secret is just realising how amazing life already is, it’s about the journey, going with it and not overcomplicating it 🤩
🙈 ALSO… this may or may not have something to do with the fact I’ve been taking lion’s mane gummies for a month and just finished a 5 day juice cleanse and I feel like a brand new woman 😂🙈😄
So maybe this is enlightenment… or maybe I just needed vitamins, a clean diet and a reset 🤷♀️

We’re on a beautiful country walk when my two year old turns around to me and says:

I’ve carried this feeling since I was 19 years old. Can’t wait to leave, but while away, can’t wait to come back.
Even now, after a year and two months in Dubai, I still can’t fully call it “home”.
But neither does Wales anymore 😔
Right now I’m back in Wales with Rupert and it’s been beautiful. Seeing family, bumping into old friends, free community toddler classes, Rupert asking daily to see nanny, pops and his cousins 🥹
Just opening the door and letting him play outside no matter the weather has felt like such a breath of fresh air.
We love it here ♥️ I love it here ♥️
But then I speak to my husband in Dubai and suddenly I want to be back there too ♥️ Back in our home, our routines, our adventures, our friendships, and the life we’ve started building.
I think that’s the problem…
Wherever I am, I romanticise the other place.
When I’m in Dubai, I miss Wales. When I’m in Wales, I miss Dubai.
Maybe that’s just what happens when your heart grows around more than one place 🤍

✅ Town Square
Not the greenest community in comparison BUT great dog culture
In the parks, at coffee shops, around the square.
It also has a large dog park 🙌
smaller dogs or dogs happy with shorter strolls & being out with you socially, this is a lovely option.

Broke my heart a bit
Beautiful park walks, except dogs aren’t allowed in them!
Which for us defeated the point.
There IS: ✔️ a small dog park ✔️ open desert behind community ✔️ nice perimeter walks
✅ Arabian Ranches 3
Dogs around the cluster parks & green pockets 😊
But green spaces are quite small and disconnected. To reach another area, mostly walking roads and pathways.
The new Central Park may change things 👀
✅ Emaar South
The golf course walks 🙌
Fab for dogs, with open scenery.
Only issue is parts may close as the golf course opens.
Really scenic & peaceful with lots of wider green space.
✅ Villanova
SO many dogs here 🐶 Lots out walking & sitting around the play park areas.
The Bolt Hole is dog friendly too 👏
But similar issue again: not many big walking parks. More road and pathways.
✅ The Valley
Really strong contender 👏
Dogs are allowed throughout the community spine park and pocket parks.
Long scenic walking routes, gorgeous connecting parks and a dog park opening soon 🙌
❌ Pulse Beachfront
Dogs are there yes 👍 but mostly concrete walks around construction areas.
I do think this community will become much better in time.

Lovely walking trails and very peaceful… but dogs restricted from many grass areas again.
The bonus here is access towards Sustainable City and AR2 which helps massively.

Meaning: 🐶 long scenic walks 🐶 massive open grass spaces 🐶 dirt tracks 🐶 off leash hours in designated areas 🐶 big dog park 🐶 daily dog meet-ups

This is a big one for renters.
It doesn’t matter whether you can technically afford more, bigger or a better postcode community… eventually you start asking yourself:
“Do I actually feel comfortable handing over this amount of money for a house that isn’t mine?” Especially when your rent is due to renew and you’re told it’s going to cost more.
At the beginning of your Dubai journey it’s very easy to increase or completely abandon your original budget once you start viewing communities.
But over time you naturally start questioning: “Was it actually worth what we paid?” “Could we get more elsewhere?” “Are we paying for hype or for lifestyle?”
2 📍LOCATION
Maybe work is miles away. Maybe school ended up somewhere completely different. Maybe your daily driving routine is slowly draining the life out of you 😂
What felt manageable at first suddenly starts impacting your whole day-to-day life.
3 🏡 COMMUNITY OR HOUSE ISN’T QUITE WHAT YOU ENVISIONED
Sometimes somewhere looks amazing on paper… but living there long term feels different.
Maybe the house works but the community doesn’t match your lifestyle. Maybe the community works but the house never feels like home. Maybe it’s lacking greenery, walkability, atmosphere or energy.
And naturally… you start wondering if the grass is greener elsewhere 👀

Also 🙈 after being back in the UK for over a month, and returning to Dubai for 2 weeks to sort out our new home. I met up with our nanny. Her first words when she saw me 😂🙈😂🙈😂🙈

It all lands differently when you actually get here ✈️
Our Criteria this time around:
- 4 bed house (maids room not essential)
- Decent walks for the doggies
- Spacious home with good size garden
- Single row (not having another house on top of your garden)
- Corner plot (semi detached)
- Preferably a community with somewhere to go for a drink 🍻
