What a privilege we have as photographers to be welcomed into such intimate and sacred moments. Time and time again. To be considered a friend and not just a service. Truly is the blessing of a lifetime 🤍
You can take the day off work so no one feels rushed. You can nail nap times, feed them a solid dinner, and pick outfits they actually love AND feel comfortable in. You can hype it up to them for WEEKS, and talk about rewards or ice cream toppings the entire way there.
The reality is, you can do ALL of these things and still end up with a child who wants absolutely nothing to do with photos.
I truly believe one of the best things we can do for our children is to have realistic expectations of them. Meet them where they are. Let your session be a chance to simply enjoy them, without distractions. They probably won’t stare at me or a big black camera lens and smile the entire time. They might not smile at all.
But watch them pick flowers. Notice their soft chubby fingers. See the way their eyes light up when they reach for you. That is where the magic is. Those small in between moments are so easy to miss when we’re chasing the “perfect” Instagram photo.
At your next family session, take the pressure off them. Let go of the expectation to preform. Be present with them. And ultimately, just give them the space to be kids🤍
Spring kicks off this week so want to post a few updates!
If you have a mini with me this week/weekend info emails will go out today! If you have a Spring Mini in the coming weeks, your info will go out several days prior. These are all sold out, however there are waitlists in my bio! Cancellation openings will go out to those lists first!
I have a handful of evenings left for family sessions this spring. I am ITCHING to get creative and this weather is perfect. The link in my bio that will take you to my calendar to book full family sessions!
If you are looking for June/July session availability, I am booking that through messages + email currently and not the calendar. (This is for any hourly sessions. Milestones, family, maternity, etc.) I am currently flexible, however by April those summer days are usually full. If you are needing anything scheduled this summer now is the time!
Newborns are scheduled year round. It is best to book ahead. However, I will sometimes have last minute openings so it never hurts to ask!! Newborn sessions are booked with an EDD and then once baby is here we solidify a date.
My birth calendar is filling up for the year. Home-births, hospital births, scheduled sections, inductions, spont labors, vaginal turned section, birth center births, you name it and I would love to support you and document one of the best days of your life. I do take on a limited number of EDDs per month so that I am able to give as much of myself as possible to my clients. My messages are always open if you’d like to see if we’d be a good fit! 🫶🏻
Lastly, best way to communicate is still either business Insta/Facebook DMs and email! If you have my personal number the likelihood of me responding is slim to none. (Unless you’re in labor or telling me you’re pregnant, that always seems to grab my attention 🤪) I check messages daily and respond M-F, only on weekends if it is super important!

This inquiry was my favorite and sounded a little like this, “My boys do best in photos when they have something to do. We want candid photos to remember their silly personalities at this age, we don’t care if they’re looking at the camera and we don’t want to be in a field.” Soooo we spent the morning at the zoo! They laughed, had the most genuine smiles on their faces, ended the day with suckers almost as tall as them, and barely realized they were at a family session and not just a typical day at the zoo. What more could you ask for as a kid 🤍
My spring calendar for full family sessions will be released this Sunday 5pm! This will be for the months of March-May. You will be able to self book your date + time.
I am still booking sessions into the summer. I just haven’t opened the self book option yet! If you are a family needing a date in June/July please reach out to me directly to schedule that.

Births are filling up through this year as moms are finding out their due dates! I still have a few gaps of availability, so let’s talk and see if our dates lineup 🫶🏻

I have witnessed women on the brink of utter exhaustion persevere with a kind of strength you can’t describe unless you watch it unfold.
I have seen the sheer joy on a mother’s face as she gazes at her child, while the lower half of her body undergoes a third degree repair.
I have watched a mother place her child’s body into a wicker basket and hand it to a funeral home director, knowing she would never hold them again.
I have sat with mothers as they process the reality of their birth shifting from a med free vaginal delivery to a c-section in under five minutes, with both tears in their eyes and a smile on their face.
I have helped mothers plan funerals and final outfits for their children. I have watched women achieve VBACs everyone told them was impossible. I have seen them overcome latch issues, horrific recoveries, and mastitis. I have seen women in the absolute pits of despair pull themselves out time and time again, because they posses a kind of super natural strength we write storybooks about. Women are brilliant, courageous, fierce, capable, and above all resilient.
And I am eternally grateful to sit in these rooms and bear witness to the miracle of women.
