We booked the Sian Ka’an Discovery Tour with and spent a full day deep inside the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, one of the most protected and untouched ecosystems in Mexico.
We sailed through the Campechen Lagoon spotting sea turtles, crocodiles, dolphins, and more birds than we could count. Then headed to Punta Allen to snorkel a reef absolutely packed with fish, where we stumbled on a nurse shark resting on the bottom.
After that we visited a natural sandbank pool with the clearest water I’ve ever stood in and sand so soft it doesn’t feel real.
The day ended with a Mexican buffet lunch and views that made it hard to leave.

This is truly my favorite area of Mexico. It feels much less touristy and much more authentic. The food is some of the best I’ve ever had, and the vibrant colors of the town are breathtaking. Everywhere you walk there are murals that’s are brightly colored and resemble a piece of Mexican culture.

We visited Sian Ka’an with, and it is a UNESCO protected biosphere reserve. The water is crystal clear, the wildlife is everywhere, and the nature here is some of the most well preserved we have seen anywhere in Mexico.
We sailed through the lagoon, spotted crocodile, snorkeled the reef, and got to swim alongside a nurse shark in Punta Allen. Ending the day floating in natural sandbank pools was the cherry on top.

To capture this moment, we were up at 3am, layering up in the dark and heading out before the first balloon took off. The air is crisp, the sky slowly turns pink, and suddenly—the sky fills with dozens of balloons. Unreal.
