馬柄ですが、馬は馬でも、もうちょっと絞ってモデルはサラブレッドなのです。2024・25年に見てきたＧ1レースの中からあの馬と〜、この馬と〜、あとあのレースのあの場面と〜…という感じで抜粋して描いています。
…というお話を素敵な記事にまとめていただきました。
制作秘話や裏話ってほどではありませんが、馬柄のゆかたを競馬ファンの方に「こんなのあるんだ！」って見てもらえる機会となったと思います。
なにより、美術や呉服業界と全く異なる競馬業界の誌面に取り上げていただけたことがありがたいことだと思っております。
同じ業界内で話題になっても分母は限られます。
なので業界を超えて繋ぐことを大切に思っています。

2026年 個展催事展示予定
爽やかな葡萄の作品。
久しぶりの投稿です。
コツコツと次の展示に向けて制作しております。
制作が溜まってしまって追われていますが、元気です。
…仕事が無くて死ぬことはあっても、仕事が忙し過ぎて死ぬことはない、という名言(迷言？)を教えて下さった小説家の方がおりました。
これからそんな小説家さんとのコラボレーション作品にとりかかります。
今年は様々な方面の方々とコラボレーションを企画しております。

次の展示に向けて制作の日々です。
静かに佇み、たてがみが追い風になびいている様子です。
蒼い馬のシリーズは馬を宇宙のように青く輝く色で捉え、馬の様々な表情から心情を拡張して作画しています。
今回は少し赤み(辰砂石の色)を足してみました。
植物モチーフの長板中型は松煙染のグリーンでお作りしております。
モチーフはニガウリ(ゴーヤ)。
夏の代表的な野菜、とっても苦くて見た目もゴツゴツとしてちょっと不細工。

京都馬主協会会報誌の表紙を飾らせていただきました。
作品は「蒼い馬(地に足)」という作品です。
JRAの運営審議会委員になり、サラブレッドと触れ合う機会が増えました。
たくさんのサラブレッドの表情や動き、息遣いを日本画の特徴である岩絵具、特に美しい群青をメインに使って描いています。
馬は青くはありませんが、神々しさを表すのに青く描いております。
京都・青蓮院に伝わる青不動のように、青い光を放っているようなイメージです。青不動は災難除けや息災、国家安寧を祈る強いお力があります。
そんな神々しさを投じて描いています。

第81回春の院展出品作品(部分)
華を花に置き換えて描こうと思った時に、具体的に描いてしまわないように、なんか花っぽい何かになるように描いてみました。
いつもの私は形のある姿にこだわりすぎて、「何か」を説明して描きたい気持ちが出てきてしまいます。
何の種類とか、何色だとか、形がどうとか。
それとは離れて「華やかさのエッセンスとは何か？」を常に自分に問いながら描くことは目の前の形を描く以上に難しいことなんだと気がつきました。
春の院展にて入選いたしました作品の展示のお知らせです。
今年の作品は、近年取り組んでいるサラブレッドを題材にしたものです。
馬たちが織りなすレースでは様々なものを感じることができます。
特にゴール直前ではどの馬も耳を倒し、風を切りさき駆け抜けます。聞こえてくる蹄音は歓声や拍手と混ざり合って華やかさを増して駆け抜けて行きます。
「蹄音の華」
この作品はあるレースの一場面を切り取って描いたわけではありません。
私がJRAの運営審議会委員になってから2年間見てきたレース(主に4つのG1レース)をもとに、2頭に絞ってまとめた作品…絵は目の前の物をそのまま描くことでもあり、幾つものデッサンを重ねて一つにまとめることもできる、そんな挑戦作です。

東京藝術大学大学院博士課程修了。日本画と和紙の保存修復を研究し、博士制作にて野村美術賞を受賞。2002年より日本美術院展に出品を重ね、風景や花鳥を主題とした作品を全国各地の展覧会や海外で発表している。また、文化財や日本画技法に関する講義・研究にも取り組み、東京藝術大学や玉川大学での非常勤講師を歴任。さらに、創業1842年の浴衣染老舗「竺仙」の意匠も手がけるなど、日本の伝統技術の継承と現代への展開にも積極的に携わる。2023年には日本美術院特待に推挙され、現在はJRA（日本中央競馬会）運営審議会委員も務める。
