It was MIT Sloan’s work to embed sustainability in new ventures that attracted Asiamigbe. Additionally, the MIT Sloan Fellows MBA Program gave her the opportunity to earn an MBA in one year. “I was anchored to my choice by the Disciplined Entrepreneurship framework and the potential to focus on climate and energy entrepreneurship.”
Currently, Asiamigbe is working to build out a sustainability-focused venture, Resilient Grid, a renewable energy company that aims to convert organic waste into sustainable natural gas able to produce reliable, dispatchable renewable power in fuel-import-dependent markets.
In a new paper, MIT Researcher Jennifer Turliuk SFMBA ’25 and Sustainability Initiative Co-faculty Director John Sterman examine the net climate impact of artificial intelligence, moving beyond AI’s energy footprint to ask what emissions reductions AI can actually enable. But they also illuminate tensions. Critically, AI creates a “carbon debt”—emissions growing today while climate benefits will take years to materialize, accelerating warming in the near term.
Without strong climate policy, efficiency gains from AI will likely trigger rebound effects that erase emissions savings. The path forward requires both technological progress and policy action.

At this year’s Sustainable Business Lab (S-Lab) Poster Day, students showcased research and solutions developed in partnership with organizations tackling today’s most pressing environmental and social issues.
