So for the next 60 days, I’m getting leaner than I’ve ever been by prioritizing that morning sunrise.
Early sunlight is the least damaging and most beneficial light of the day. UV is minimal, while red and infrared light are abundant. This programs your circadian rhythm and sets your physiology for the entire day. I’ll also be eating two meals per day, placing most of my food earlier, and eating outdoors whenever possible.
WHY THIS MATTERS FOR FAT LOSS 💪
Fat loss doesn’t happen in the gym or a calorie tracker — it happens in your mitochondria.
Your mitochondria literally turn fat into water and carbon dioxide, which you breathe out. Yes, insulin, macros, and calories matter. But at the deepest level, fat loss is energy production at a subatomic level.
Food + oxygen → ATP (energy) 👈 That happens inside mitochondria. We have trillions of them — and they evolved and thrive under full-spectrum light.
Any blue light from the sun is ALWAYS PAIRED with healing red and infrared wavelengths that increase ATP production and metabolic efficiency. Modern LED lighting delivers short-wavelength blue light, which disrupts mitochondrial signaling and metabolism. In nature, light is never fragmented — that balance matters. Our cells are being fed processed light all day and night.
HORMONES, MOOD, AND HUNGER 🤤
Light also controls hormones and mental state via the suprachiasmatic nucleus — your master circadian clock. Its only input is your eyes.
Morning light tells your body:
when to release melatonin at night
how to regulate cortisol
how to synchronize sex hormones
how to regulate leptin — the hormone that signals fullness
When leptin is synced properly, hunger drops and cravings disappear. (1/2 — rest in comments w/ free guide)
You wouldn’t wear shorts in the snow. So why are you eating like it’s summer when your body’s living in winter?
Most of us are still eating tropical fruits in January — and wondering why we feel off. Our grocery stores ship produce from across the globe — but you’re wired for seasonal, local foods. Eating out of sync confuses your system and burdens digestion, mitochondria, and hormones.
❄️ Winter Food Swaps
Bananas → Winter squash, pumpkin, or cooked plantains
Tomatoes → Carrots, beets, or roasted root veggies
Melons → Citrus fruits like oranges, clementines, grapefruit
Berries → Apples, pears, kumquats
Peaches/plums/apricots → Bok choy, mushrooms, hearty greens
🍎 Rule of thumb: If it doesn’t grow where you live this time of year — don’t eat it right now. The highest form of eating is local, seasonal, single-ingredient, and unprocessed.
🛒 Stock up at your local farmers market every Sunday. That’s the food your body actually expects — not whatever looked ripe after a 2-week journey in a shipping container. It might sound extreme, but these small changes help re-sync your body to the rhythms it evolved with.

1. Gratitude 🔆
Rise early. See beauty. The sunrise is free — and it’s the ultimate biohack. Full-spectrum light on your eyes and skin changes your mood, hormones, sleep, everything.
And when it’s time to eat, no distractions. Just appreciation. Taste is stimulation enough.
2. Consumption 🧘
This year, I want to want less. Only buy what supports my health — natural fibers, non-toxic products, and things I’d actually put in my body. If you wouldn’t eat it, don’t put it on your skin.
Mornings are sacred: no stimulation before grounding my nervous system. No tech before breathwork or meditation.
I’m also treating light health with the same priority as food, movement, and mindset. The light we’re exposed to — especially artificial light and lack of full-spectrum sunlight — has silently wrecked sleep quality, hormone balance, fat loss, and mental clarity. Most importantly, it’s completely disrupted mitochondrial function — the foundation of energy and cellular health.
3. Movement 🤸
No escalators. No elevators (most of the time 😅). I’m lucky to move — and outdoor movement gives me more than any gym ever could. Sunlight and free electrons every single day.
4. Food
No more obsession. No more processed sugar. Eat local, eat simple, and always stop before full.
The highest form of eating is local, organic, single-ingredient, and unprocessed. Unless I can see the full ingredient list or talk to the farmer — I’ll assume it’s compromised. This mindset simplifies everything. No more macro math or over-optimizing nutrients. Whenever possible, my meals are built from local meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and fruits. Farmers market every Sunday to stock up for the week.

Thank you to for a fantastic venue and crowd. Thank you to everyone who flew here to support and woke up back home to watch. It means the world.
I can’t describe how overwhelming it feels to compete here. Four years of anticipation leads to so much fear, anxiety, and doubt for every single athlete. When you’re about to walk out for your first match, everything in your body is telling you to run the other way. It’s a privilege to feel this amount of pressure. It’s only around once every four years.
Luckily, I get to feel these nerves again on Wednesday for the team event. The boys are gonna take care of it
Job’s not finished. It’s a gentlemen’s sport and we’re gentlemen of Harvard #rolltide #crimsontide
