This isn’t a post about books. This is a post about how the little girl who was slow to read, who’s grandfather taught her using comics, who struggled through her dyslexia and adhd so she listened to books, who deeply identified with Belle because some days books were more welcoming than people, then she fell in love with reading again as an adult, so much so when she went to Paris she went book shopping at and cried, who’s house is littered with book droppings, who’s now about to start as the Global Head of Social at

This week, MacKenzie Green (who auditioned for ANTM) and I talk about the cultural implications of America’s Next Top Model documentary Reality Check. We also share fiction and non-fiction books that relate to the themes of the documentary.
Comment ‘ANTM’ for links to watch or listen to hear our thoughts on:
📸 How pop culture—especially America’s Next Top Model—shaped beauty standards, body image, and the way women learned to critique themselves and each other.
📸 A broader conversation about “girl-on-girl” dynamics: internalized patriarchy, reality TV as a mirror of culture, and why shows like RuPaul’s Drag Race offered a more affirming counterpoint.
📸 How being a conscious consumer makes all the difference in the media you consume.

and I couldn’t stop talking about it, so we ended up doing a whole episode on it!
Comment ‘Benito’ for links to hear our whole conversation about:
🇵🇷 Why the Super Bowl halftime show felt less like entertainment and more like protest art, communal storytelling, and cultural history in the making
🇵🇷 Representation, empathy, and what gets lost when people refuse to engage with stories that aren’t “for” them
🇵🇷 How books, music, and art help us survive frightening political moments—and why these cultural artifacts will matter to future generations

Snipers were on the roof.
The crowd was silent.
History didn’t feel noble in the moment. It felt dangerous.
Dr. King stayed at my grandmother’s house. Sat in her living room. Ate her food. Watched her son walk across that stage with the weight of the country on his back.
This wasn’t a thousand years ago. This is recent. This is personal. This is real.
So when folks start dusting off the soft, edited versions of Dr. King today, let’s remember who he actually was. And who he stood beside.
He was not safe. He was not convenient.
Neither was my dad.
Speak up before it’s easy.
Stand up before it’s popular.
And stop waiting for time to make the truth more comfortable.

I’ll admit I thought yall were insane when you wanted to go back to 2016 but gotta admit it was a vibe.
Last year with Obama, I was at Columbia Business School, following Tone It Up workouts, I saw for the first time in Color Purple. I loved a Snapchat filter, wore Kylie cosmetics (can you even believe it?), and made The Mindy Project my entire personality.
I worked on my first lot, I did Skinny Bitch Collective workouts, and started Markle Months.
2016 was an interesting time.
Did I want to make it and took the time to do it, also yes!
Idk, 2025 was a wild year with some incredibly high highs and low lows. I was glam in Paris and slumming it at home with my parents.
I was so many things last year and I want to celebrate all of those versions of myself I had to be last year.
