Monarchs are born in Canada and naturally migrate south to Mexico—mirroring my own path of leaving home to pursue my dream of modeling abroad. What once felt foreign slowly became my second home, not because of work, but because of the warmth, generosity, and kindness of the people who welcomed me.
After facing gun violence, I wasn’t sure if I’d ever model again. I wasn’t sure if I’d ever travel again or ever truly feel safe. But Mexico gave me more than opportunity—it gave me back my courage. It reestablished my faith in myself, reminded me that power lives within us, and taught me what it means to transform.
It also taught me the butterfly effect of kindness: that even the smallest act of care can lead to the most unexpected, beautiful transformations.
Representing Canada at Miss Universe means representing a nation known for kindness—but for me, it also means honoring the truth that home isn’t always a place; it’s a feeling. No matter where you are in the world, you deserve to feel safe, strong, and able to grow into the best version of yourself.

Reflecting on my own journey, Miss Universe inspired me over a decade ago to become involved in my community. First with foodbanks, then women’s shelters and beyond. Over ten years of dreaming and philanthropy through Trump era, IMG and Raul. My dreams never stopped when ownership changed, my volunteering and dedication knew nothing more than a dream and the impact I made. While I can’t speak on behalf of other delegates, I’m sure I am not alone in feeling that the difference we make is not dependant on owners, crowns or sashes.
So my message to the pageant community is this: never stop dreaming. No escándelo, drama or controversy should impact the real and lasting change you can make in the world. A change you do not need a crown to make.

Sometimes in life, we don’t see a solution, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t possible.
In my case, a complete stranger intervened in just the right way at just the right moment, forcing the shooter to move his arm as he looked back over the same shoulder, causing the bullet to miss my head.
Reflecting on this experience, I found there can be beauty in ignorance because, in moments where nothing else seems possible, we leave room for miracles.
I turned my pain into purpose by hosting self-defense classes, speaking publicly about gender-based violence, volunteering, and fundraising thousands of dollars for organizations that help survivors of violence in my community and abroad.
Survival turned into resilience and empowerment. It made me grateful for life itself, and it taught me that there is never a better time than the present to go after everything you’ve dreamed of in life. Anything is possible. 🤍 Stay tuned to see what dreams I’m coming after in 2025. 🤍
