What an incredible year it has been and what an incredible night to wrap it all up.
It is hard to put into words what this year has meant to me. Growing up, I watched the Miss America Competition in admiration, never imagining I would one day represent my beautiful state as Miss New Mexico. Standing on this stage a year ago and hearing my name called was a dream come true, but I could never have imagined how much this year would change me.
Over the past year, I traveled across New Mexico, advocated for a cause close to my heart, and had the privilege of meeting people from every corner of this state. I am grateful for every hour of service, but more than that, I am grateful for the people I met.
I will remember the stories from people across New Mexico, the wisdom they shared with me, the students who reminded me to dream big, and the communities who welcomed me so warmly. Time and time again, I was reminded that the greatest part of this title has never been the crown, but the people.
This year taught me that leadership is not a title, but a responsibility. It taught me that impact often happens in small, meaningful moments. And it taught me that when we serve others with purpose, the difference we make is far greater than we can see.
