In 2024, I read the Bible in a year for the first time following The Bible Recap podcast + reading plan. Doing this and staying consistent with it was the best thing I could’ve done for myself in a very transformative year (job loss + getting married).
I wanted to commit to reading the entire Bible in a year again for 2026, but wanted to follow a different plan than The Bible Recap, so that the experience felt a little different this time. The IG algorithm knew what was up earlier this week, and I had a targeted ad for A Beautiful Year in the Bible from! I purchased it immediately! This year-long Bible reading plan is not chronological, and instead mixes Old and New Testament passages weekly by theme.
I also wanted to reread a daily devotional that I last read in 2018. I lived in Vermont for a brief time in 2017-18 for work, and a kind family from the church I attended up there had gifted me this book for Christmas in 2017. The readings for each day are short but impactful! Also so wild to think about how much my life has changed since the first time I read it to now. 😊
Other things I absolutely loved this year that didn’t make the photos:

• Credit card points and educating myself more on this topic
• for workouts! Continuing here and there but starting and classes as well!

Normally at the end of every year I share a recap post of everywhere that I traveled in the past 12 months. I wanted to do something a little bit different this year, and specifically highlight three places in Virginia that I enjoyed weekend trips to for the first time!
2025 marked 7 years for me living in Virginia. What a joy it is to still find new VA cities and towns each year to visit and explore! I hope this post serves a reminder to never stop exploring your own state, there are probably lots of hidden gems that you still haven’t discovered! 😊
