そして改めまして、誕生日ライブにお越しくださった皆様、ありがとうございました。感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。
今年は友人をはじめ、本当に沢山の方から温かいメッセージを頂き、胸がいっぱいになっています。
バークリー時代の友人たちもライブに駆けつけてくれました。
私は昔から、女性という立場は本当に大変だなと感じてきました。
社会から求められることも多く、特に子育ては、想像以上に大変で、時にとても孤独な戦いです。
でも同時に、世界で一番尊く、大切な仕事だとも思っています。
そして、歌を続けていくことも簡単ではありません。
歌うことは、ただその場所へ行って歌うだけではなく、
場所を探し、音を作り、
譜面を書き、
人と向き合い、
どうしたら想いが届くのかを考え続けること。
衣装やメイク、髪型ひとつにも、
その日の音楽や気持ちを込めています。
そして何より、
自分自身という存在を突きつけられる場所でもあります。
時には、自信をなくしたり、落ち込むこともあります。
元々体力も気力も強い方ではないので、子育てと歌の両立で身体はボロボロの日もあります。
それでも、歌を続けてきたからこそ、沢山の素晴らしい出会いがありました。
音楽を通して、人と繋がれたことに心から感謝しています。
だからこそ、女性に限らず、忙しい毎日の中でも、
「好きなこと」や「得意なこと」を諦めずに続けてほしいと心から思います。
どんな形でも、自分らしく誰かと繋がれる場所を持っていてほしい。
私の歌だけではなく、
この歳で、子供がいても、こうして歌い続けている姿が、
ほんの少しでも誰かの励みになれたら嬉しいです。

Being a woman, a mother, and continuing music at the same time is honestly not easy.
Singing is not just about showing up on stage and performing.
It means creating music, writing charts, communicating with musicians, thinking about how to share my message, and sometimes facing my own insecurities and limitations.
Balancing motherhood and music can be exhausting, but music has also brought me some of the most meaningful connections and experiences in my life.
If my music — or simply the fact that I continue singing while raising children — can encourage even one person to keep pursuing what they love, that would make me very happy.

インドネシアから日本への帰国が決まった頃、
以前共演したミュージシャンから突然そんな電話がかかってきました。
はい？
前日で曲もこれから。
しかも大統領？首相？
驚きだらけでしたが、
とにかく翌日、指定された場所へ向かいました。
そこは大統領が滞在されている場所。
「今日歌うことになるかは、その時にならないと分からないので…」
そう言われ、3時間待機。
そして
リハーサルなしで本番へ。
扉の向こうには
インドネシア大統領と岸田前首相、
そして大臣の方々の会食の場。
BGMと聞いていましたが、
皆さま静かに耳を傾けてくださり、
気がつけばオンステージのような時間に。
インドネシアと日本の架け橋に
ほんの少しでもなれたらと思い、
心を込めて歌いました。
帰宅後すぐに
「とても喜んでいた」と連絡をいただき、
ほっと一安心。
夢なのか現実なのか分からない、
忘れられない時間でした。
音楽の力に、心から感謝しています。

“Are you free tomorrow?
We’d like you to sing at a dinner
for the President of Indonesia
and the former Prime Minister of Japan.”
This was the call I received,
just as my return to Japan from Indonesia had been decided.
I was honestly in shock.
The songs hadn’t even been decided yet,
and there would be no rehearsal.
Still, I was asked to keep the next day open.
The following day,
I arrived at the designated location,
where the President was staying.
“I’m not sure yet if you’ll be singing today,
so please be prepared.”
I waited for three hours.
And then, it was time.
Behind the door was a private dinner
with the President of Indonesia,
former Prime Minister Kishida,
and several ministers.
I had been told it would be background music,
but everyone listened so attentively and quietly.
Before I knew it,
it felt like I was on stage.
They gave me a round of applause for every song.
I simply hoped that,
even in a small way,
I could serve as a bridge between Indonesia and Japan,
and I sang with all my heart.
Soon after returning home,
I received a message saying
that the President had truly enjoyed the performance.
It was such a relief.
It still feels like a dream….
an unforgettable moment in my life.
I am deeply grateful
for the power of music.
