I am sharing with you all today that I will be taking an indefinite break from roller derby as unfortunately I have torn my left knee ACL during the Denver v Montreal game earlier this month. I will be needing surgery. This knee already had sustained a complete PCL rupture a year and a half ago, the ligament having reattached but regrown 50% of its original size only, so I will need serious rehab to make sure the joint is stable and strong again.
The road ahead involves down time followed by several months of physical therapy.
I wish my Team Canada teammates the most wonderful experience at the World Cup. I may not get to live the experience with them this time, but I know that with or without me, our roster is adaptable and strong.
Thank you to you all who have been giving me so much love through all these years. This kindness helps lift me up.
