Its not easy to summarise the lessons learnt and experience gained... it's probably as hard as squeezing a decade worth of moments into a 1 min vid! π
Our online store was started during a time when e-commerce and small business support in South Africa was almost non-existent.
So much hard graft, sweat and figuring out things as we went along!
The goal when we moved back home to South Africa was to start a business that could create jobs and thankfully we achieved this and in doing so, positively impact women. Through empowerment, some of these women even went on to start their own businesses and further their studies. This, by far, has made the Mina Moo and Baby experience and journey worthwhile ππΌ
Another personal highlight is randomly seeing little ones wearing our products in malls, clinics and even at home affairs.. unaware that 'Mina Moo' is standing next to them, smiling π
Through organic growth and word of mouth, our products were stocked in over 80 independent boutiques nationwide as well as few international stores ππΌ
From 2020, due to the global pandemic and on going loadshedding, we adapted our business model to online retail only. Like most small businesses, we were stretched and tested to the core, but decided to pivot and do what was necessary to survive.
Add to all of that, raising two little humans and evolving as a wife, mother and business owner, it's been quite a ride! π
Growth isn't easy and is certainly not straightforward or always obvious. I am so grateful to everyone I've crossed paths with, learnt from, gave advice to and collaborated with to make our brand what it is today. π€²πΌππΌ
