From June 20–24, Milano Fashion Library will host Mario Testino: A Published History, a five-day exhibition created with Mario Testino Studio celebrating the photographer’s remarkable career through the printed page, showcasing the magazines, editorials, and covers that shaped his legacy.
To celebrate the upcoming exhibition, we’re looking at one of the recurring themes in Testino’s work: Brazil. First visiting the country as a teenager, Testino found in Rio de Janeiro a sense of freedom, sensuality, and human connection that would leave a lasting imprint on his visual language. Over the decades, Brazil became a constant presence throughout his editorials and covers, as did his collaborations with Brazilian models such as Gisele Bündchen. Today, we explore the many ways Brazil has been captured through his lens.
