So fun fact: my Bonneville got totaled after tipping over in my driveway in a windstorm back in December 🥲 to quote the mechanic, a “one-in-a-million fall” broke a bracket and bent the frame just enough for insurance to deem it a total loss.
I got through February and March easy enough without a vehicle, but the warmer weather had me itching. Cue a great marketplace deal: a clean 2011 Triumph Thunderbird Storm 🙌

Last year opened at the close of the hardest year of my life, and finished up as one of the best. and I got married! I turned 30 and got old. I rode my motorcycle across the country again and sold it to buy a dream bike. We moved back to where my adventures all began almost five years ago, and started a new one together in our first apartment! I started a new job as the General Manager of one of the top Jiu Jitsu schools in the country,, and am around the sport I love every day.
Everything is getting better. I feel healthier. I have faith like I never have. New dreams are starting to take shape.
Goals for this year:
Work hard and rest hard.
Go easy on myself.
Write more.
Learn more dutch.
Create more good.
Consume less of the bad.
No more needless screentime.
Practice gratitude.

This little bridge crossing, hidden amongst the winding and dusty paths between sugarcane fields in rural Guatemala, embodied the entirety of my journey south: move forward, through fear, towards living a life I could be proud of.

Four years later, I’m living within spitting distance of that same house I pulled away from - within a few days’ reach of turning 30. The motorcycle changed, but the spirit has stayed the same. I’m around Jiu Jitsu everyday, and have a job I love. I have dreams on the far horizon, but am more mindful and appreciative of “now” than I’ve ever been.
This great circle that brought me back to New York - one of more than 85,000 miles on multiple motorcycles traced across 16 countries - has been life-changing.
I healed. I discovered. Heck, I got married!
Four years on, I’m grateful for the life I’ve lived as a nomad 🏍️

And after all this time on the road, a chapter comes to a close. I’m thinking of all this not as an epilogue for the last 65,000 miles, but as a prologue for what comes next. Africa. Asia. The Himalayas and the various islands in the South Pacific. Europe. Heck - Alaska still evaded me before turning south.
It’s time to recharge. Time to rebuild (and dig myself out from under the credit cards 😅) Time for a new bike and shorter distances for a while.
I’ll be settling in California for the foreseeable future; good riding weather and endless possibilities to nurture the parts of my life I miss. Climbing. Pushing for my Black Belt. Actually trying to publish my writing.
All this travel has been good for me, but travel sucks you in like a siren song; it consumes everything. And like Odysseus, it’s time to escape the pull of the road.

After more than two years on the road, I finally reached Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world at the bottom of Argentina. When I left New York, I had these grand ideas of a two-year, unbroken trip around the world. When I left the US over a year ago, tired and weary from a year on the road, I wasn’t sure I’d be ready to do Asia and Europe and Australia and Africa. I was exhausted, and missed some stability. There were moments when I consider stopping. But I promised myself something: I’d reach Ushuaia by any means necessary. I’d push the damn thing if I had to.
And through all of the crashes, the broken motorcycle parts, the heartbreaks, the dental emergencies, the food poisoning and money problems and miscellaneous trials and tribulations… I did it. I made it.
I smiled. I laughed. I’ve experienced over and over again the feeling of being *exactly* where I’m supposed to be at an exact moment in time. I’ve found love, both of myself and in an amazing person. In short, I had an adventure - like exactly what I wanted from the beginning.
Thank you to everyone who has followed along, sent kindness, donated, bought prints, etc. I’ve found a community in all of you. And be sure, while I’m going home to rest for a while (and admittedly pay off a lot of credit card debt), the next adventure isn’t far off.

I struggle to put into words a summary of the last two years of my life. The former theater kid in me recalls the opening scene from “Rent” - 525,600 minutes, or in my case 1,051,200. 730 sunsets and midnights. A few hundred cups of coffee brewed over a more than a few campfires, hostel stoves, and in the back of various camper vans. A 65,000 mile motorcycle odyssey.
Last year, at the one-year mark, I expressed gratitude for everything I’ve accomplished living on the road. This year, I’m filled with love and wonder at the life I’ve built. I’ve done what we all try to do in life: I’ve realized my purpose is to see this world and share it’s beauty with camera in hand and pen on paper 📸
And that’s why I’m asking for help this time around. I left New York two years ago with a dream and a padded savings account built from four years working four jobs. Today, as I sit in Lima, that savings account is practically drained. To add insult to injury, my battery burnt out while rolling into town last night.
I never wanted this to be a “GoFundMe” trip; I worked hard to self-fund this adventure, and have done a pretty good job, although the surprising and generous donations always bring a smile.
The donations that have magically appeared in my Venmo are amazing, and those links are still in my bio, but my sincere hope as an artist is to know that my photos are hanging on walls around the world. With that in mind, I ask anyone reading this to please click on the link to my gallery in my bio and, if inspired, purchase an original print. If I can sell 10 large-scale prints a month, I can continue my travels indefinitely (Or at least until the wheels fall off my bike 😅)
