How come when something is in writing, some people automatically believe it to be true? Are they naive or just trusting? It's super important these days to keep an open mind and use your critical thinking when you hear "facts." Also, make sure to look at things from other's perspectives.
_
So often, people think that their worldview is the only 'correct' view. There are so many life factors that make people perceive things differently. For instance, some people pour their milk before their cereal, sure they might be lunatics, but they are still people!
The Geodesic Dome was developed initially in the 20th century by American engineer and architect R. Buckminster Fuller. Fuller worked to reimagine the planet as a place where we could coexist with nature and use fewer resources to sustain humanity by creating less with more.

I ventured into a narrow creek bed and walked along the overgrown path to a beautiful sunlit area. As I walked, the camera brushed against the wet plants leaving droplets of water on the lens. So, when we started taking backlit photos, the lens created a gleaming rainbow effect over the image in the first shot.
_
As I climbed out, I realized I had been whipped by rice-cut grass that had scraped my bare legs, created a natural tattoo of sorts. It was a great morning, aside from the mosquitos, and I will try that water droplet effect again soon. Let me know if you try it and send me your results.

As I have gotten older, I've learned there is no MY WAY. So I've lowered my expectations of pretty much everything. By doing this, you let go of control and leave room for improvisation.
_
I may sound a bit pessimistic to some, but the truth is if you want to be happy and more carefree, you need to stop thinking so much. Instead, work at the things that matter. The things that make you successful and happy. Worrying about things that don't matter is just a distraction to focusing on the big problems you need to solve.
_
Take these photos, for instance. When we shot them this morning, I was like, whatever we get is fine. The light was super low, and the environment was meh. When I got home, I pulled them up on my computer, and the colors were also peculiar, not quite right. So I turned them black and white and voila! They feel more right and vintage, which was my ultimate goal.
Not worrying left more room open for me to be creative. I could think outside of any constraints because I let go of all expectations.

As we got to our secret waterfall hole in the forest, the sky turned slate grey, and we heard crashing thunder in the distance. We sprinted on the muddy trail then climbed down the rock wall to find a tiny bit of cover under the rocks. We sat crouched, waiting for the brunt of the storm to pass until our legs and feet were tingling. Forgetting a raincoat, my freshly styled hair was sopping wet. But, no worries, braids will do.
_
Then as the rain slowly became a sprinkle, the sky opened up, and the sun softly shone through the misty sky to create a perfect lightbox for taking photos in a *waterfall hole.

Many times in life, things don't go as planned. But, when you can go with the flow instead of fighting with or getting upset at the circumstances, your "plans" will always turn out as intended, and most of the time, they turn out even better and leave a lasting impression in your mind!

Taking time to care for our machines is just as important as caring for the strong bodies that power them on our adventures. When we're done exploring on our bicycles we always finish by cleaning them up and seeing to it that they are ready to go the next time the road is calling us out. What are some tips you'd be willing to share to help us go faster?
_
Here are my top 5 bike maintenance suggestions to keep you rolling smooth.
1. Wash Your Bike - We use a low pressure sprayer, scrub brushes and dish soap. Afterward make sure to lube your chain!
2. Clean Your Bottles - Energy drinks can leave residue that will form mold quickly.
3. Charge Your Batteries - Electric Shifting (purrrrr), Power Meter, Whoop Strap, Fit Bit, or your accessory of choice uses a battery to keep you on track during intervals.
4. Rinse Your Helmet - Sweat can deteriorate padding and foam inside your helmet, a rinse with water after a ride will dry quickly and get out that salty residue.
5. Laundry Time - We wash our gear in cold water, on the gentle cycle, and hang to dry. Try half a cup of white vinegar in laundry to freshen things up after a day in the saddle.

First, think about what you want to do in your mind.
Second, describe it out loud so you can hear what you are thinking.
Third, watch other people do similar things to inspire your actions. Sometimes it's good to watch others to get yourself motivated and excited.
Fourth, visualize yourself doing the process to make what you want to happen happen. It doesn't need to be complicated or lengthy, just enough to get you going.
Fifth, GO! and don't be afraid to fall or fail. That is where the learning begins.
_
We all have different strengths. But, even if you don't highlight yours via Instagram, you have extraordinary talents that are rare to others.
