Learning to refill my cup in a full season of life 🤍

If you’re the one who holds everything together.
The organiser. The driver. The supporter. The one everyone relies on.
This is your reminder.

This season of life is full. Full schedules. Full days. Full hearts. And if I’m honest, sometimes full exhaustion too.

Lately I’ve been reflecting on how I move through my weeks, how I care for my nervous system, and how I support my body in a season where what used to work no longer works in the same way.

I’m learning (and re-learning) that sustainability matters more than willpower.
That rituals matter more than motivation.
And that we truly cannot pour from an empty cup.

If you’re feeling tired, stretched thin, or a little disconnected from yourself, please know you’re not alone. And you don’t have to do it alone either.

Maybe filling your cup looks like movement.
Maybe it looks like stillness.
Maybe it looks like walking slowly under the trees.

Whatever it is, you’re allowed to choose yourself too 🤍

I’ve shared more of this reflection in my latest blog. You can read the full post on my website (link in bio).

A few days ago, my heart broke open in the most unexpected way.

On the national stage, under the bright lights, with a room full of strangers watching, Grace forgot her dance.

She froze.

Hands over her face. Tears rolling down her cheeks.

And then… she did something extraordinary.

The whole room started clapping. Cheering her on. And somehow, through the fear and the tears, she found the music again and kept going. She didn’t run off. She didn’t quit. She danced her little heart out.

Later we discovered she had actually placed equal third, and on a technique count-back missed out by just 0.1, placing her fourth in the prestigious Evo Elite category.

And then, in the most beautiful twist of fate, she was given a second chance.

Yesterday, she walked back onto that stage. With the same dance. The same music. The same routine she had frozen in.

And this time… she rose.

Grace came 3rd in Australia in her very first year of competing.

I honestly don’t have words big enough for how proud we are.

Not just because of the result. But because of who she became in the process.

Because life isn’t about perfect performances. It’s about what we do when everything goes wrong.

There is a saying, “Fortune favours the brave.” And I believe with all my heart that the universe supports those who are willing to show up, even when they’re afraid.

Especially when they’re afraid.

This week, my daughter didn’t just learn how to dance.

She learned how to rise.

And we couldn’t be more proud. 🤍

So grateful for her teachers & her team mates she would be here without all of you!
I sat with the sun as she rose from the ocean
and remembered something simple, and something sacred.

That we are not meant to live against nature,
but with her.

There was a time when the rhythm of my life was set by tides and light,
by bare feet in sand and salt in my hair.
And then, slowly, the world got louder.
Busier. Heavier.

So I listened to the quiet call to return.

Now, whether I am walking beneath forest canopies or sitting on the lawn at dawn,
I am reminded that nature never rushes.
She moves in cycles.
She rests.
She renews.
And she always knows her time.

Lately, I have been simplifying.
Listening more.
Letting my days be shaped by light instead of screens,
by breath instead of urgency,
by presence instead of pressure.

And in that remembering, something beautiful happens.
Life begins to organise itself again.

Maybe alignment is not about creating a new life.
Maybe it is about returning to the most honest one.

As we begin a new season, my community classes start back next week,
and our teacher training journeys unfold again throughout the year.

If your body, heart, or spirit is calling for a gentler rhythm,
you are so welcome to come and walk this path with us.

Where in your life are you being invited to slow down and return to your natural rhythm?

🌊🌿🌞
New year reflections from the heart.
Slow living. Conscious choice. Walking the path of light.
Christmas does not belong to one belief system alone.
It is a season of connection.

Connection with each other.
Connection with nature.
Connection with something greater than ourselves.

Living on the beautiful Gold Coast, this time of year invites us outdoors.
To walk new trails.
To sit beneath the trees.
To swim in the ocean or explore rock pools.
To plant something and watch it grow.

Christmas can also be a lonely time for many.
For those carrying grief.
For those missing someone deeply loved.
For those navigating this season quietly.

One thing the forest has taught me is this.
We are never truly alone.

Under the trees, life is always present.
Birdsong.
Movement.
Breath.
Belonging.

If you are anything like me, you might find yourself talking to the plants and animals like old friends.
Listening.
Noticing.
Remembering how deeply connected we all are.

My wish for you this Christmas is that you remember how deeply loved you are by Mother Earth.
She is always listening.
And if you pause long enough, she will whisper wisdom far beyond your wildest dreams.

From my family to yours, we are wishing you a wildly wonderful Christmas season.
May it be filled with connection with plants, animals, and humans alike.

Forest hugs and oceans of love 🕊️
Twenty one years of Christmas gatherings.

What began as something you do for staff and clients slowly became something much deeper. A chosen family. A community of kindred spirits who value kindness, compassion, good health, and meaningful connection.

Essence of Living was never just a business to me. It was a place where hearts gathered. Where people felt seen. Where light was recognised in one another.

To everyone who has walked this path with me over the years, whether you are still beside me weekly or now walking a different path, please know this. Your spirit is still felt. Your light is still seen. Distance and time do not dim what was real.

There is something special about those who walk the path of light. Those who live in alignment with their soul’s highest potential. If you are reading this, I know you are one of those souls.

You are a lighthouse for many. You bring steadiness when life feels wobbly. You bring hope when things feel dark.

Thank you for simply being you. I see your radiance. I feel your love. And I am deeply grateful to know you.

Classes are still running this week. My Monday and Wednesday yoga begins at 9am, with sessions just $11. Friday Carrara classes will also continue & are just $8 per session.

Wishing you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas. We will be taking a three week break and returning January 12th, 2026.
There is something truly sacred about a learning environment where you feel safe enough to soften, strong enough to rise, and supported enough to be exactly who you are.

Our Pilates Props + Barre Teacher Training is not just about learning how to teach Barre. It is about coming home to your body, your confidence, and your voice as a teacher.

Held within a forest immersed space, this training is intentionally intimate. Small group numbers allow for personalised attention, deep connection, and the kind of learning that lands in the body rather than just the mind.

As Ellie shared, “I have never been in a learning environment that made me feel so accepted, non judged, and safe.”

Surrounded by birdsong, trees, and the gentle rhythm of nature, something begins to shift. Strength builds. Breath deepens. The nervous system softens.

Ellie said that by the end of the training she felt the fittest, strongest, and most flexible she has ever been. She loved learning how to create high vibe Barre classes, and shared that this training was exactly what she had been looking for.

One of the most powerful parts of this training is learning through experience. Teaching full classes. Supporting one another. Sharing wisdom. Growing together.

What Ellie did not expect was the mindset shift. “I feel softer in my heart, less defensive, less judgmental, and more open. I now know there is a different way to be.”

This is more than a qualification. It is an experience that stays with you long after the course ends.

If you are ready to learn in a space where you are truly seen, supported, and inspired, this journey may be for you. 2026 dates are now live online!
The Power of a Weekly Family Ritual

In our home, we eat dinner together every night, but most evenings it’s at the kitchen bench after long days of school, training and work. It’s quick, practical and often feels like a groundhog rhythm of planning, preparing and discussing what needs to be done for tomorrow.

It nourishes our bodies, but not always our hearts.

That’s why our one longer meal each week means so much to me. It’s the moment we intentionally sit at the round table, slow down, pray, talk deeper and really relish each other’s company. We don’t have a TV and we don’t use screen time during the week, so these conversations become our entertainment, our connection and our way of seeing each other more clearly.

Each week Brad guides us with a few simple but powerful questions:

♡ What are three things you are grateful for and why?
♡ What were you excited for this week?
♡ What are your goals for next week and how do you think you could achieve them?
♡ What are you proud of, no matter how big or small?

And every afternoon at school pick up, I ask:

♡ What challenged you today and how did you overcome it?
♡ What did you learn today?
♡ What was your favourite thing today?

What I love most is that my kids always want my answers too. Even the kids I car pool with jump in the car ready to share their three answers before I even ask. Their excitement reminds me that children are always longing to be heard, seen and held.

These rituals may seem small, but they shape emotionally aware, confident and connected kids. They remind us that even in the busiest seasons, we can choose presence. We can choose conversation. We can choose each other.

Because these are the moments they will carry into who they become.
What a powerful season of growth it has been.
Our Pilates Mat Teacher Training became a space where women softened, strengthened and stepped into the most authentic version of themselves.

Over five weekends I watched each student rise in their own way.

Bree found her confidence again. She arrived with an open heart and left feeling strong, connected and deeply supported.

Val stepped out of her comfort zone and discovered a new level of inner power and self belief she will now carry into every corner of her life.

Samantha loved the art of sequencing, communication and connection, sharing that the training exceeded every expectation and helped her become a better version of herself.

Jessica said she loved absolutely everything about the course and felt more supported, inspired and nurtured than she ever imagined.

Again and again the same message echoed.
This training is more than Pilates.
It is a journey of returning home to your body.
A journey of feminine strength.
A journey of being seen, guided and held with care.
A journey of discovering who you are as a teacher and who you are as a woman.

To the beautiful souls who joined me this round, thank you for your trust, your effort, your softness and your commitment to growth.

It has been an honour to walk beside you.

And to those feeling the nudge to begin this path, when you are ready, your mat is waiting.
