Bakeries: My absolute favorite go-to place is the amazing 🥐for high quality Danish pastries.
Colorful houses: If you want to explore more than the iconic Nyhavn, head over to Christianshavn (old part of the neighborhood). Can’t get enough of those views! Wandering there feels like a fairytale.
Playgrounds: Among many other, my kids favorites are the Dragon Legepladsen I Kongens Have 🐉, Traffik Legepladsen (the traffic playground🚦)and the Tower Playground in Østerbro.
Waterfront: My favorite is Islands Brygge canal, and the Kulturhuset (coffee and brunch place) right by the water.
Ofelia Plads is another wonderful place to enjoy Copenhagen’s waterfront. It’s located right behind the The Royal Play House. Then take the yellow boat (public transport) or cross the bridge over Holmen to reach the opposite side, where the Opera House is located, for stunning skyline views over the Marble Church and Amalienborg palace (the Royal Family’s residence).
Gardens and parks: Valby Parken is overlooked by tourists, but the rose and Japanese gardens there are stunning 🌹🏯
We also love Ørstedsparken not far from the Copenhagen lakes (during autumn the park is absolutely stunning)🍂
Culture and art: Located a little out of Copenhagen city, in Ishøj, is ARKEN. Modern art museum which provides new exhibitions mixed with contemporary art. Visit also the Louisiana museum of modern art. Its seaside location and stunning sculpture park make every visit unique.
Spaces for kids to explore: Our favorite is the “Experimentarium” in Hellerup! 🚀This interactive science center is a playground for curious minds of all ages, every corner invites discovery and fun.
Castles: Start with Rosenborg 🏰 in the heart of the city, and then hop on the S train to Hillerød and/or Helsingør to visit Frederiksborg or Kronborg slot. If you prefer to stay close to the city, then Frederiksberg castle in Frederiksberg Gardens is a perfect choice!
Tivoli Gardens: Amuses in every season! Halloween opens on 3rd October🎃
